A fun activity that can be used as a starter or plenary over and over again.
It is a page of words including rooms, prepositions, colours, adjectives, numbers, and months. Pupils race each other to skim and scan the sheet to find 3,5 or 8 of the words given.
Suggestions for groups of words by topic and sound are given on a separate sheet.
The coloours of the words do not mean anything in particular - they just help pupils to distinguish the individual words.
Can be used on a whiteboard as a whole class activity where all play against each other, or in pairs. Pupils can write the words they find on mini-whiteboards, or tick off on the sheet. If doing this, it is a good idea to laminate to wipe off and use over and over.
4 differentiated grids to help students to add more detail to their own writing.
They are presented individually on single slides and as core and stretch combined and challenge and super challenge combined and with all 4 levels on one slide for mixed ability use.
The categories on the grids reflect the headings/boxes on my GCSE Essentials Learning Mats.
Core and Stretch reflect the expectations of GCSE Foundation Level (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/gcse-french-essentials-learning-mat-foundation-12043959)
and Challenge and Super Challenge are aimed at Higher Level candidates (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/gcse-french-essentials-learning-mat-higher-12043962).
Pupils start with either a noun (le foot) or a noun and verb (jouer au foot) then use the grids to add to and uplevel the sentence.
The slides can be used in a variety of ways:
as a starter or plenary
as a card game
as a game of consequences
as a board game
A powerpoint slide of the various forms of the present tense of aller to colour in. Ideal for use as a calming starter activity. Useful for when teaching the simple future tense or free-time activities.
Pupils can colour each of the different verb forms in different colours to help them to learn them. There are 4 identical slides so they can be printed either 1 ,2 or 4 per page depending on the size you require.
