For several years I worked with Easylearn publishers, developing resources for children struggling with English and Maths. I am one of the creators of the Froggy Match-it phonics app, which helps beginner readers to learn to read and spell effectively.

This graded series of nine books contains over 400 tried and tested phonics worksheets. The sheets are completely different from those in the Big Phonics Books I have produced, so they provide even more practice, and also represent good value for money. Book 1 Single Sounds looks at individual letters and their sounds. Book 2 Hot Pet looks at consonant-vowel-consonant words, and Book 3 Pat’s Bed looks at bdp differentiation. Books 4 Kick the Ball and 5 Black Mask look at double final consonants and adjacent consonants respectively. Book 6 Fish and Chips looks at consonant digraphs, while Book 7 Kate’s Kite looks at split digraphs, words such as ‘make’, ‘cone’ and ‘fine’. Book 8 New Coat looks at vowel phonemes, and Book 9 A Bright Invention looks at silent letters, prefixes and suffixes. Previously sold through Easylearn.

Little non-phonic writing is required and the clear, easy format enables independent working. Successfully used with older students struggling with phonics to help them to catch up or to give them a fresh start. Ideal for revision and homework and suitable for a wide age range. Book 1 concentrate on c-v-c words, double final consonants, sh and ch and the long vowels ai, ee, igh, oa and oo. Book 2 deal with the long vowel phonemes ar, or, ur, ow, oi, air and ear, plus adjacent consonants.
