Overview of the lesson: Thunks - introduction to complex thinking. Students can go in pairs or threes and spend ten minutes discussing one or more of the thunks. Family tree - students make a family tree/timeline of Tudor reigns. Portraits - discuss portraits and why they were painted. Analysis/literacy task - analysing one of the portraits. Example given.
