An art lesson to explore and learn about different painting tools, techniques and effects. LO: To explore how paint can create different effects Slides with success criteria, an exploration task, a video from Kapow to explain the different techniques, guided task on how to create the different effects and plenary discussion questions. Resources needed: paper, sketchbook, paint, palettes, water pots, spatulas, cotton buds, sponges, sand. Can be a stand alone lesson or a good preparation lesson for another art piece. A collection of 19 myths and legends from around the world. These are around 250 words each in length. They were created for Year 3 to learn and retell for an oral storytelling lesson. They could be used for many purposes in Years 1 to 6.

Can be used as a model text example to work on character description and/or instructions for making a potion. Then as a format for writing a whole short story.
