Teach youngsters the true meaning of Christmas with this printable PDF book of The Nativity Story, set to rhyme to capture engagement and enjoyment as children learn and recap about the birth of Jesus. The story tells the story from the Angel Gabriel visiting Mary to King Herod’s evil orders and Mary and Joseph taking Jesus to safety.
As a primary school teacher, I loved to retell this story but found that youngsters often struggled with key information, which is why I chose to write it to rhyme, in order for children to become enthusiastic about it and retell it with a greater degree of accuracy and confidence. The story is accompanied by simple but colorful pictures to highlight key characters and places. There’s no prep needed for this resource but its simplicity offers valuable information from the nativity story to teach children about the meaning of Christmas.
There are 24 pages included in this instant digital download, with additional features at the end of the story, such as a story map, a printable word mat, character sheet, questions and a Nativity word search, all of which will help to support learners when completing follow up activities.
