The verb ÊTRE is one of the most important verbs in French. Have some fun with this simple dice game to reinforce 32 different ÊTRE expressions as well as the conjugation of the verb in any tense you wish. You will receive 5 different versions of this dice game that will last 30 minutes if you choose to follow the instructions I’ve included. See the preview for an example. Students work in teams. One student per team is in charge of checking everyone’s work. You’ll need two dice per team. The first die indicates the subject to use and the second indicates which ÊTRE expression to identify. Only the images are shown. There is no English written anywhere on this game. Playing French TABOO is a great way to get students to speak French and learn a lot of new vocabulary. This game is simple to modify and use with beginners and advanced students alike. The them of this TABOO game is LA ROUTINE QUOTIDIENNE. 32 French-English cards are included. All of the words on the cards are in French and English. This is very useful as many of the words will be new to students. This French Taboo game includes the following: How to play (beginner and advanced levels) 32 Taboo game cards to print, cut out and laminate if possible (see preview) *In the upper left corner there’s a spot for you to punch holes in the cards so that you can then attach them with a ring for no prep use every time! Object of the game: One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can’t use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the word at the top of the card. Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. Beginner students should be allowed to use the TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.
