GCSE FRENCH: Passé Composé with Être - French Verb Race Game

(1)
VERB RACE is a fun and very exciting way to practice passé composé with être conjugations. Your students are going to love this set of 75 French verbs to use in the fast moving VERB RACE GAME. This set includes 75 verbs that use être as helping verb in the passé composé (including reflexive verbs). Classic verb race involves dividing the class into teams and one person from each team goes up to the board to conjugate faster than everyone else. I've included full instructions, tips and rules with this resource. VERB RACE has always been a huge favorite in my classroom. In classic VERB RACE it is usually the teacher who moderates the game, but in the instructions I'll explain in detail how you can play a student led game so that even your weakest students can participate and learn a ton. I'm including a powerpoint version of the game WITHOUT ANSWERS and student response sheets should you want to project the game and play as a class or in small groups without moving out of desks and up to the board. Also with this resource you'll receive 75 task cards without responses (answer key included). You can use these cards in STATIONS, in a game of SCOOT or in classic BOARD GAMES. I recommend printing out the cards, laminating them if possible, cutting them out, punching holes in the space provided and hooking them together with a ring for years of NO PREP usage and verb conjugation review. Here's exactly what you get: 75 calling cards with answers - Black and white and color versions provided 75 numbered task cards without answers - Black and white and color versions provided Powerpoint version of 75 cards without answers How to play and other ways to use the cards Student response sheet Answer key

GCSE FRENCH: Ceci ou Cela - French Game of 2 Extremes Ice-breaker Activity

Keep your middle school and high school French students active by playing the "Two Extremes" game. The facilitator will use a stack of cards listing things, activities or places that fall at opposite ends of the spectrum, such as: salty or sweet, Paris or New York, Mac or PC. The students start standing in a big group, but when each choice is read, they move to the side of the room that the facilitator indicates is associated with their choice (see the arrows on the cards). Those who can’t make up their mind or don’t have a preference remain in the center. Students will see all of the things that they have in common with their classmates and will likely learn some new vocabulary while they’re at it! These cards are great for middle school or high school and can be used at any time, especially when everyone needs a break and needs to stand up and move around a bit. This activity requires no teacher prep once the set of cards is printed and cut out. Don’t want to print or don’t have time to do so? That’s ok! Advanced French Grammar: 50 Challenge Cards using TOUT

(0)
❖ Advanced French Grammar: 50 Challenge Cards using TOUT ❖ 4 page grammar lesson with examples, 50 challenge cards, 50 cards with grammar explanations, and quiz/worksheet. This resource will provide your intermediate to advanced students with a good way to practice and review the many ways to use TOUT in French. A lot of resources only include basic information and exercises using TOUT as an adjective. Sometimes it is difficult to find a resource that mixes up all of the many different ways to use TOUT, and when to pronounce the S on TOUS. For example, “Ils sont tous contents” means “They are all happy” while “Ils sont tout contents” means “They are very happy.” The following ways to use TOUT are covered in this resource: ⭐As an adjective: TOUT - TOUS - TOUTE - TOUTES ⭐With adjectives: TOUT - TOUTE - TOUTES ⭐With adverbs and expressions: TOUT ⭐As a pronoun: TOUT - TOUS - TOUTES Here’s what is included: 50 sentence exercise (multiple choice and fill in the blank versions) 4 pages of grammar notes and examples Three sets of cards are included. One has sentences with blanks and multiple choice answers. These cards include the answer written upside down at the bottom of the cards. This will allow students an opportunity to either work individually or in small groups and check their work as they go. A PDF with one card per page is included if you prefer not to print and either project to do a whole class activity or have students work on computers or tablets. Another set is identical, but these cards don’t include the answers at the bottom. A third set includes the correct answer, an English translation, and a grammar explanation also in English so that students will know exactly why this is the response. A one card per page PDF is included for these cards as well. I’ve laminated my cards so that I can pull them out time and again for a quick review on the many ways to use TOUT. There are enough of them that students won’t necessarily see the same ones over and over every time you pull them out. Great for test review or for seniors after a long break.
