I created these activities to be used to support the basic teaching of Shakespeare plays within the National Curriculum as it can be at times boring for the children. These resources were created for ages 8-11, but can also be used for lower ability groups ages 11 + where often more creative activities work to keep them interested and focused Activities include: Word Search, Crossword, Colouring, drawing. Work sheets: Facts on Shakespeare Facts on Macbeth Article Wanted Poster Comic Strip I have used these activities in many ways depending on the children I am teaching and ability. I have used them in ‘stretch and challenge’, and used them to create a homework booklet. I hope you find them as useful as I have.

Included: Power Point Both resources needed for the question I have created this resource using the theme of Boxing, I teach 1 hour lessons to lower ability groups but all have potential so I want to encourage this. On the slides I wanted to support students in helping them with Q2 by exploring key quotes and suggesting what the differences between the articles. I have created short interesting tasks to keep them engaged. Below are some suggestions you might want to cover with your classes by: Q2: Refer to Source A and Source B. Write a summary of the differences in the ways of Boxing described? How is boxing being described in each source, is it similar or different to each other? Can you read between the lines to understand these similarities and differences? By end of lesson students be able to or beginning to write 1 or 2 PEE’s Included: Power Point Both resources needed for the question

What will do I get: The short story 21 targets questions Extension activity What will this comprehension do for your students? 1.As an English teacher I find that reading and answering comprehension questions are important because they help students understand what they have read. I wanted to create a comprehension that not could be used for a class discussion but also as individual answers. I think ‘The Splendid Cannabils’ has it all!! These questions I have created to go with the story is to make students think about the main ideas and details, making sure they really get the point of the text. I have put the questions into the text at key areas so that it can be accessed by all levels of student. I have found that the questions will also help students to remember what they have read by getting them to focus on key parts and think about them more deeply. In addition, this practice builds their vocabulary and helps them learn how to explain our thoughts clearly. I have also added in an extension activity for those who work faster or it could be used as homework.
