Two weeks worth of fully planned and resourced reading planning (based on 4 lessons a week) from ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’. Included in the resource are the full set of resources, including lesson PowerPoints, activities for each day and answer sheets where appropriate. The only thing required is a copy of the book for children though a link is also included for a read aloud version of the story. The first week includes: Lesson 1 - Discussion around the book and creating a book review Lesson 2 - Focus on vocabulary Lesson 3 - Sequencing events (images courtesy of Pixabay) Lesson 4 - Retrieval The second week includes: Lesson 1 - Focus on vocabulary Lesson 2 - Retrieval Lesson 3 - Explaining answers using because Lesson 4 - Summarising by retelling the story Everything is uploaded as PowerPoints so that any tweaking or adapting can be done as necessary to respond to needs in your class.

A lesson aimed at the Year 3 Science unit of Plants. This lesson is the third lesson of a sequence, looking at how water is transported through a plant. The lesson presentation includes a recap from a previous lesson (can easily be omitted if you want this lesson as a one off) before then looking at the important parts of a plant in transporting water and how this happens. This is then followed by an independent activity that requires children to apply what has been discussed by labelling the parts involved and describing the process. This is then followed by a challenge question to provide the chance to reason. An answer sheet and support sheet are also included. This is then followed up with an experiment to end using white carnations and food colouring to show water transportation. There is also a copy of the recap task included.
