These word flashcards can be used for so many things. They can be used in the teaching of phonics but can also be given to pupils to work independently on many different activities. There are 3 words for each sound and the sound is highlighted in green. Most words are CVC and easy to sound out so that they can be accessed by pupils independently. Also a super resource to aid phonic interventions. One key element in the teaching of phonics is to revisit previous sounds taught - using these flashcards is a great way to do just that! An engaging tale surrounding the themes of: bullying, self-esteem and friendship. This story is a great tool for PSHE lessons, assemblies or English lessons. Pupils will follow Quinn on his adventure of self-discovery. I have written the story to include a whole host of interesting language devices, including alliteration and repetition, which can be discussed and pupils can imitate in their own similar story.

This is a fabulous resource that can be used for so many different engaging lessons. This is Theresa May's full speech on calling a general election on 8th June. The speech is fascinating. Ask your pupils to work out which key words are repeated the most, how Theresa May refers to herself and the opposing parties or work out why an election is being called. It could also be used to pick apart May's use of grammar and vocabulary.

A starting point for repeated addition. Diffentiation detailed on top of sheets. If children are not familiar with counting in 2s, 5s or 10s give them cubes/counting bears to help them work the sums out.

Crack my code! Children to use simple format to create their own code and use it to write a secret messge to someone else. I used this to start a Year 2 topic on Media Magic, thinking and learning about language and communication. My children really enjoyed being secret agents.
