Hi! I currently work in London as a Deputy Headteacher. I love all things teaching and learning! I am extremely passionate about education and find researching and creating new strategies and ideas exciting. The world of teaching and leading in England is highly stressful and it's up to all of us to look after each other's well-being...I hope my resources save you some precious time.

Draw the front cover of a book

Can be used as ext. activity or independent guided reading activity. Children copy front cover (before having read), ensuring they include author and title and then write a sentence predicting what the book might be about.

Mindmaps where children can fill words in, sometimes an independent activity in class or sent home for homework. Linked to sounds that we learn that week. Sheets can be easily changed to fit any sound. I hope you have found these resources useful. If you have time please leave feedback :)

Will use as a start to Fantasy worlds to have a character in mind to then create a setting for. Just a bit of fun to start children thinking of silly, amusing ideas. Two versions: Factfile for BA Full descriptive sentences for AA Thank you :)

A mixture of resources for topic Jungle

An assortment of resources to do with jungle topic. Postcards - used for writing assessment at end of topic. Write a postcard home from the depths of the jungle. Very simple but can be jazzed up with clipart. Just saves time! Design your own smoothie with tropical fruits. Draw a picture in the style of Henri Rousseau. Blank mindmap - fill in mindmap with vocab at beginning and as children add new vocab as they learn. Please leave feedback :)

Sorting fairy tale characters

(5)
Simple two large circles for children to sort characters into two groups...circles can easily be overlapped to make a venn diagram. Ignites good discussion about different groups as most children are familiar with the characters. Hope it's useful! :)

Story review for The Magic Porridge Pot

Questions which can be used for any text to get children thinking about the story after they have read it. Can be filled in my HA or scribed for LA. Makes for good assessment at the end of a story focus. Have stuck into their Literacy books.
