My class are reading Charlotte’s web, so I created some addition word problems for them based on the book. Hope they are useful to somebody else. There are 3 levels a= 3 digit numbers b= 4 and 5 digit numbers c= 5 and 6 digit numbers with a bit of subtraction thrown in!

A self assessment checklist for 'Writing in Role' English KS2-3

I created these checklist cards as English Coordinator to help embed grammar throughout the school. The children can use them to assess when they have done a piece of writing. I used both the national curriculum and Pie Corbett's progression in writing to put these together. They are very visual and give examples. This is the year 3 one. Had lots of good feedback from our school and cluster from children and staff.

I made this sheet based on the Smugglers Topic/Local History . The children were to choose 1 activity a week to do at home. There are a range of activities from writing and maths to art and cookery. This is a great introductory P.E lesson. It is a classroom based lesson setting the ground rules for the years P.E lessons. It goes over rules, importance of kit etc.. The main activity is active and creative. I have used this lesson with years 3-6. But am sure it would work with years 2, 7 etc

Here is a great Christmas Activity. 15 different ways of saying 'Merry Christmas' from all around the world. The students must read and learn the different phrases, find them in a wordsearch and then use internet to do an online quiz and find out whhich country each phrase is used in Merry christmas

These grids I made as English Coordinator for children to stick in the front of their book and use to assess their writing. They have been very successful.
