My class have really enjoyed learning the story of the firebird. Years 3-6. I created this cloze activity to help with the understanding of the story for the SEN children in my class and it was very successful.

I created these sheets with the Year 6 Reading Buddies in my school- so they had a focus of what to write when listening to children read. So it wasn’t always just ‘Well done’ or ‘Good Reading’ It gave them an area of focus. Then some parents asked if they could have it to use at home when they are listening to children read and said it has been helpful. The first sheet is a table to record on and second sheet is a grid to help with comments to write to asses the child’s reading

I created this pack to use with my class next week for a whole school RE day with a Christmas theme. It could be done over several lessons though. There is a clear and easy to follow lesson plan.
