Introductory lessons teaches pupils to use and interpret evidence . KWL activity to discover pupil interests and base knowledge for the topic, Ancient Greece and Ancient Greeks. Jigsaw vase activity with follow up ideas and activities included which is basically looking at the pictures to find out a bit about Ancient Greece and interpreting the evidence.
All from the New Curriculum Historical inquiry objectives.

I have been teaching almost thirty years and have been an adviser and leader of teaching and learning in a school. I have been consistently judged as outstanding. My pupils really enjoyed these lesson and they set the scene for a great unit on Ancient Greece.

Jigsaw vases with follow up looking at the pictures to find out a bit about Ancient Greece from artefacts. This series of lesson plans was taken by a Lead Inspector for OFSTED/National Leader of Education and Executive Head for his own schools and training. He said they were exemplary examples of high expectations, carefully planned and differentiated lessons which engaged pupils fully.

This lesson uses pictures of sources (all provided int he Note book from British Museum, Freepiks and Fashion Era for educational purposes) encouraging pupils to ask questions, think of possible answers and then shares factual information around the popular theme of ‘What did the Ancient Greeks wear and look like?’
The note book includes information about ‘What did AG wear?’ ‘What do we know about AG jewlerry?’ What was popular hairstyles in AG?’ etc.
