Ancient Greece / Greeks KS2 Acropolis / Temples / Architecture / Letters / DT

Looking at famous buildings from around the world, the pupils are hooked into learning about architecture. A letter arrives from the original designer of the Parthenon / Acropolis and explains the process of Greek temple design. Pupils are led through a notebook file of how to research, design and make their own temple and later write replies to Ictarus with their evaluations. An outstanding lesson with images, the letter from the designer, links to good videos etc - all you need (except Greek non fiction books or photocopies of relevant pages from books about temples) to teach background knowledge, engage pupils and teach literacy skills . Includes a notebook file for projecting and leading pupils through the lesson. Part of a full series on Ancient Greeks available either separately or as a full pack at a reduced cost. I have been teaching over twenty years and consistently judged as outstanding.

Looking at and interpreting evidence (guess the teacher from artefacts shown in the pictures on the notebook - fairly non-personalised so you could use as yourself to save time or adapt the notebook) KWL activity to discover pupil interests and base knowledge Jigsaw vases with follow up looking at the pictures to find out a bit about Ancient Greece from artefacts. This series of lesson plans was taken by a Lead Inspector for OFSTED/National Leader of Education and Executive Head for his own schools and training. He said they were exemplary examples of high expectations, carefully planned and differentiated lessons which engaged pupils fully. Happy Sundays :) Part of a full series on Ancient Greeks available either separately or as a full pack. I have been teaching over twenty years and have been an adviser and leader of teaching and learning in a school. I have been consistently judged as outstanding. I h ope that the resources save you time and energy and engage your pupils. I have tried all the lessons myself and used them in my own recent teaching. Objectives support English skills and cross curricula skills. Matched to the New Curriculum.

A stand alone lesson from a complete series of Ancient Greeks Lesson Plans, Notebooks and resources. The series includes dozens of lessons about various topics and questions which you can use in response to children’s interests, all linked to the theme Ancient Greece. This lesson uses pictures of sources (all provided int he Note book from British Museum, Freepiks and Fashion Era for educational purposes) encouraging pupils to ask questions, think of possible answers and then shares factual information around the popular theme of ‘What did the Ancient Greeks wear and look like?’ The note book includes information about ‘What did AG wear?’ ‘What do we know about AG jewlerry?’ What was popular hairstyles in AG?’ etc. Everything you need for an inquiry based lesson. Pupils demonstrate understanding with differentiated written tasks.

A game I developed to encourage thinking, vocabulary and turn taking/control of impulsivity. The children obviously don't want to should out the opponents words. I made them take turns developing patience too. Useful for speech therapy, social skills, assessment/revision, for work with parents and family therapy and many other contexts. A great wet play game too! Many contexts - I even used it as a staff activity for end of heavy training day. I am a teacher with over 25 years exemplary practice as teacher, advisor and school leader. I am now teaching overseas in an International School in Thailand. Thank you for buying my resources and helping me to survive on a teacher salary out here! :)

Perfect for those of you who don't have time and hate laminating cards. I spent my time designing these so I can just walk in to cover classes at a moments notice so would be perfect for supply or cover teachers or TAs. The other weeks are also available. Though this is a week really it took me over 2 weeks with Y2 as it is so rich. You can skip through if your pupils learn quickly. Each presentation has over 20 pages and I have included jpegs for you to see them. You only need white boards and pens for these lessons. Happy Sunday Fellow Teachers :)

Versatile, editable game for assessment/revision, centres, use with parents or pupils, teaching vocab or just developing interaction, social skills. I 've used this game in so many ways and just edit the words depending on the context. I've used after an intense training day with staff for fun, with EAL children to assess after a unit of work, as part of a end of year assessment of topic understanding and to restrain impulsive and hyperactive kids shouting out opponents answers whilst waiting their turn. I have over 25 years as a teacher, advisory teacher and school leader. Thanks for buying.

Each sound has a week of resources for phonics teaching. I have used these from Year 1 phonics classes up to Year 6 SEND English set. I have a Master’s degree in SEND and almost 30 years experience as a teacher, learning support specialist and advisory teacher for SEND.
