Completing the Square - Fully differentiated

(31)
Huge lesson on completing the square which is fully differentiated. May need two lessons for this.

Students practice writing in completed square form, assess themselves.
They they practice solving quadratics by completing the square, again assessment.

They then finish off with a past exam question.
You may want to add in stuff about minimum points throughout but that's up to you!

An NQT and this is my own resource so all feedback welcomed!

Converting Fractions, Decimals and Percentages

(35)
A full blown lesson (or even 2 or 3!!) on converting between Fractions, Decimals and Percentages.
Differentiated (almost throughout) with students using an attached help sheet to note all methods down.

I have taken some of the powerpoint from my school resource and the questions are from CGP so all credit to them - I've just put this together.

Please feel free to review and comment!

Kept the key concept ideas from PIXI Maths. Thank you PIXI.
I just didn't like the way PIXI have their RED as Easy etc for differentiation.

Changed and adapted Powerpoint and worksheets.

An NQT, so all feedback is welcomed.
Thanks

Identifying Trigonometry ratio bingo

(22)
A bingo style activity to reflect on which trigonometric ratio to use given certain sides/angles within right-angles triangles.

To be used as a plenary to a start lesson or as a main reflection activity when putting trig ratios into practice.

N.b. I am an NQT so all feedback is welcomed for my shared resources.

I have made a lesson (or two) just on perimeter and area.
The perimeter includes a worksheet.

All because I could not find a simple Year 7 lesson (Low ability) so I made one!

An NQT so all feedback welcomed!
Thanks

Cubic Sequences and Geometric Sequences

To be used with a top set class but a starting cover of Cubic and Geometric sequences following the new 9-1 GCSE spec.

Not an in-depth lesson however covers cubic sequences (from applying quadratic sequence skills) and then geometric which is fairly self-explanatory I should imagine.

An NQT so all feedback welcomed!
Thanks

Quadratic Sequences

An in-depth resource that covers all of Quadratic sequences. Have taken and adapted resources from other sites so NOT all my own work however, now a full lesson for me to teach with plenty to cover.

An NQT so all feedback is welcome!

Intro to Probability - Year 7

Following the MEP scheme, students are to play a game where two dice a rolled and they have to predict what it will be first of all (i.e. how many times they will reach their chosen numbers etc.) they then play the game and an actual result will formulate and answers should be similar through the whole class. I am at Uni, doing a secondary placement and this is a resource I created myself - cannot upload lesson plan though.

Something small but I have made a GCSE 9-1 (with old grades) Past paper tracker where students can shade in their grade and decide two topics to work on from that paper.

Hope it helps!

Please leave feedback for this resource as an NQT still and appreciate all feedback.

Needed an in-depth introduction to Standard Form where students are converting to standard form and then from standard form. Lovely recap idea to be used as a plenary.

NQT so all feedback welcomed!

Thanks!

Surds/Square Number loop cards

When dealing with surds it is tricky to notice the square numbers to cancel down. This loop card activity can help with this as a quick fire recall of both skills merged into one!
I'm also an upcoming NQT so I would love all forms of feedback/comments!

A look into how function machines can work with other areas of Maths.
I have a very low ability Year 9 class who struggle with forming and solving equations.
Starts off with turning "I think of a number.." into function machines, then moves onto solving simple equations using function machines.

Please review and rate as I am looking to further my development and resources.
Plus, all my resources are FREE.

One slide where students work out the cost of a word using A = 1p, B= 2p and C = 3p...

Very engaging starter (my class experience) and can be differentiated to aid the lower ability saying that the answers are shapes.

Have attached as a Notebook and PPT for your choice and ease.

Answers: 50p = Circle, £1 = Squares

An NQT so all feedback is welcomed! I will keep uploading resources I have used, which have worked well in my classes.

This is NOT all my work.
I have taken a couple of resources from various authors and collated them together for my own use with classes.

I use the main "Transformations-RPW" powerpoint to showcase examples, then I use the screenshot JPEG files as worksheets.

Could end the topic on the codebreaker or transformers transformation (definitely not my making!)

Let me know what you think

Happy to have 2 out of 4 resources recommended by TES!
