<p>This RE SMART and PPT is a series of six lessons and all resources based on RE planning for the unit “Why do some people believe that life is a journey?”<br /> Each lesson starts with a sticky knowledge retrieval quiz and vocabulary activity. The lessons cover Christian, Jewish and Hindu beliefs around life and its milestones.<br /> Activities include completing a journey tree of our own lives; a class brick wall based on the idea of love; a personal milestone rock pile; thought bubbles of Jesus and John the Baptist’s thoughts; people close to us activity; postcard about a Bar Mitzvah; promises to our future selves; Christian marriage vow ring activity; analysis of reasons why people marry; a Venn diagram comparison of Hindu, Christian and Jewish beliefs and initiation ceremonies; and a “journey bag” task to help people through life.</p> <p>Lessons include videos, group/partner discussion, group tasks, individual tasks and making links to children’s own lives. All resources are included, and there is a printing requirement list for the whole unit. Please note - the SMART and PowerPoint contain the same content, but you need Notebook software to open SMART.</p>
