This is one of a series of lessons that I am uploading on the old AQA anthology poems. The lessons obviously have a comparative strand running through them and there are lessons for all of the poems from Cluster 1 and 2 uploaded as well as lessons that compare two poems or teach how to analyse them / compare them. Obviously no use for the old spec, but entirwely useful for the poetry comparison piece of controlled assesment in the new AQA spec.

Holes SOW Lesson PPs to support text; lesson This is one of a series of lessons that i have uploaded to structure the reading of the text Holes - aimed at year 8, the scheme breaks down the chapters / character and themes and prepares students of literature study. made in my PGCE year, so not great but can be adapted and should provoke ideas for lessons, if nothing else.

Titanic SOW for Level 2/3 pupils(in KS3) lesson This is one full lesson plan with the pp and resources (if I made them) that is part of a full scheme of work that I have uploaded. There are 18 lessons altoghter and they have all been uploaded separately. In some cases, there is only a lesson plan as I've planned it but not made all the PPs. I will add PPs as I create them. Aimed at year 7 who are below level 4 and utilises lots of Kagan practice.

This is a full lesson that details how to tackle the longer writing task, with example answers, mark schemes, questions and how to. Lesson builds on my previous lessons on the AQA new spec. - please look at them for build up and follow on. If you like it, please rate it!

Selling Ice Cream – Set Up A Company This is a full self contained lesson plan that can be used on it’s own or can be taught as a full scheme of work alongside the other 6 that I have uploaded. All lessons start with the name Selling Ice Cream for ease of finding. These uploads are presentations that can be used to show pupils what they should be creating to support their pitch

This does need to be worked with as you will need to add slides and hyperllinks but this is the basis of a template that I made in my NQT year - Literally, change your questions and add slides to fill it, then hyperlinks and you are away... you need to have a good working knowledge of Powerpoint to work with this.

Full lesson PP – Preparing for Writing Sections Exam This is a full lesson PP – originally created for the WJEC legacy spec but, with a few tweaks, it can be changed for any writing exam as it covers different elements of writing under exam conditions.

Manchester –Assessment This is a resource that is ready to use as a baseline assessment for humanities– it’s part of a Humanities curriculum that is taught to Year 7 pupils, so covers Geography, History and Literacy skills. This assessment asks pupils to explain what they have learnt from a scheme of work that covers Manchester. All of the lessons that support it can be located under the title Manchester.

Manchester Music SOW overview This is scheme of work overview for an English scheme of work on Manchester Music. I have uploaded all of the lessons and the resources if you would like to find them. However, this is also good for you to use as a starting point for long term planning.

WJEC Legacy Spec Reading Skills Lesson Although this was originally created for the legacy spec teaching the reading sections of WJEC, the skills in this PP lesson are still relevant as it covers how to tackle reading questions in general and therefore can be updated / adapted for use.

This is a full lesson PP that structires how pupils should tackle the first question of Paper 1, section A - Legacy English Spec.

Based on the PHSE Grangeenders scheme that many schools have bought in, this is a lesson PP that is used to supprt the delivery of the materials - aimed at lesson 2 of the pack.
