A collection of extracts for MA students to work on as revision. My class find the language very difficult therefore I have underlined key quotes and added a glossary down the side to help them. Extracts taken from Sparknotes and I have built this into an activity.

Paper 2: Writers’ viewpoints and perspectives Looks at planning answers for Paper 2. The students look at the general ideas behind how to answer each question. This can then lead on to them writing full answers. My class get easily overwhelmed and I found that this broke things down for them. The extract is taken from somebody else and not my own, however I created the activity. Section B revision sheet helps students to quickly brainstorm ideas and reminds them of the mark scheme.

PP will last up to 2 weeks depending on class ability and how long you want to spend on developing writing and peer assessing. The skills numbers match up to Doddle skills however these could easily be changed as the skills are very universal. Focus on improving vocabulary and peer/ self assessment. Images are emotive focusing on 9/11, war and Chernobyl.

This PP was used over a week with Y9 students as an introduction to 19C literature. The unit looked at skills needed for both the language and literature exam. There is a mixture of individual and group work. Extracts are available from the AQA KS3 19C resources pack, available from their website under teaching resources.

Used as the first two lessons with Y13. Contains an intro to the course with quick quiz. Leads the students to consider existing knowledge of language and CLA. Moves onto a transcript and a straightforward analytical task introducing students on how their answers should be structured, followed by a peer assessment activity. Contains information on CDS satisfying A01 and A02. Includes further reading.
