Lesson to follow on from 'Cómo Es Tu Pueblo / Ciudad?'. Looks at places in a town. Match up exercise that can be done in groups, pairs or as an individual activity. Re-caps using 'hay' and looks at an exemplar piece of level 4 writing. Pupils finish by writing a paragraph to say what is in their town - extension: use the future tense to make it a level 5 piece of work.

Nice cultural lesson on Paris - includes identify the monument activity, quiz, jot thoughts activity and an IT based research activity.

Lesson on the near future tense designed as a follow on from introductory lesson. Mini whiteboard activity to re-cap how to form the future tense, what an infinitive verb is etc, dictionary skills task to look up useful infinitive verbs and a worksheet activity. Worksheet to re-inforce formation of the near future tense. Pupils translate sentences then using the help sheet (page 2) write some sentences of their own using the near future tense. Compliments lesson of same title.

Lesson aimed at top set Y10 but can easily be adapted. Lesson looking at different accommodation types and using the preterite and imperfect tenses together. Potential for at least 2 lessons worth of content. C easily build in more whole class questioning, whiteboard recall and retrieval practice. Prior learning: preterite tense formation; imperfect tense formation; holiday vocabulary (countries, transport, activities). Pupils had already written an extended description of a past holiday (90 words) which they go back to this lesson and improve with a more detailed description of accomodation. Starter: Gap fill - preterite tense text about a past holiday with key verbs removed. Pupils have to fill in the missing verbs then find the two mistakes - 2 of the verbs should be in the imperfect. Second in a series of revision lessons for Y11 in preparation for listening and reading papers on the topic of holidays. Compliments Edexcel GCSE textbook. This lesson focuses on types of accomodation and making reservations. Listening track from textbook, vocab challenge and reading comprehension.

First lesson of this module focusing on talking about children’s rights. All images from the text book are removed from the slides but I have signposted page numbers for ease. Intro to holidays in the present tense for Y8, before going onto Viva 2 Module 1 - Mis vacaciones. Main focus is on countries and recap of the verb IR. Includes match up, gap fill, translations, listen and repeat, beat the teacher and a peer assessment task too.

This was designed for a top set Y10 class but I used both the VERDE and ROJO books as they are only just starting the GCSE course. Print out vocab lists included on hidden slides that wont show up during the presentation but can be printed off in advance of the lesson. Optional writing frame (depending on ability) for the final task. Can be easily adapted for more able or lower ability as necessary.

A GCSE revision lesson talking about food and meal times. Aimed at a lower ability class but still has high levels of challenge. Writing frames and additional support provided (such as instructions both in French and English) if needed. Linked to Studio Vert Pg50 but solely focuses on mealtimes, talking about food preferences and DOES NOT include anything on quantities (Pg51).
