Viva 3 Rojo - Module 4 - Jovenes en acción - mis derechos

A few other activities in the text book that could be used to pad out the lesson and get in some additional practice. This was aimed at a top set Y9 class so some more structure may need to be added for lower sets - writing frames, speaking grids, amended translations etc.

Le Déjeuner et Le Repas - LESSON FOOD AND DRINK
Follow on lesson from breakfast items. Focuses on the use of je mange / je bois / j'aime manger and j'aime boire. Introduces food and drink items for lunch and dinner. Lots of opportunity for group activities including translations to re-inforce sentence structure. Homework task set to consolidate at the end.
VIVA AQA Ciudades Punto de partido 1 (places in a town and directions)
Approx. 2-3 lessons (depending on how much recall/retrieval you include) to compliment the VIVA AQA GCSE Textbook. Any images from the book have been removed from the presentation so you will need access to these resources to include - corresponding page numbers on the slides. This was designed for a top set Y10 class but I used both the VERDE and ROJO books as they are only just starting the GCSE course.
Lesson 1-2: Places in a town (Viva ROJO)
Plenty of opportunity to build in further retrieval activities or practice with adjectives if needed. I found I got to Activity 6 by the end of Lesson 1 so began with the adjective recall at the start of lesson 2.

Second in a series of revision lessons for Y11 in preparation for listening and reading papers on the topic of holidays. Compliments Edexcel GCSE textbook. This lesson focuses on types of accomodation and making reservations. Listening track from textbook, vocab challenge and reading comprehension.

L'argent de poche - LESSON POCKET MONEY
Lesson on pocket money. Revises high numbers using mini whiteboard activity and looks at jobs pupils might do at home to earn their pocket money such as 'je fais du babysitting' etc. Rally Robin activity for group work to consolidate vocabulary and activity from Metro Rouge book. Nice reflection at the end.
La Nourriture - Point de Départ JOURS ORDINAIRES Studio Vert
A GCSE revision lesson talking about food and meal times. Aimed at a lower ability class but still has high levels of challenge. Writing frames and additional support provided (such as instructions both in French and English) if needed. Linked to Studio Vert Pg50 but solely focuses on mealtimes, talking about food preferences and DOES NOT include anything on quantities (Pg51).

Quand il fait beau STUDIO 2 F MOD 1
Foundation Y8 French lesson recapping weather (lesson 1) and then moving on to say what you do in good and bad weather (lesson 2). Follows the Studio 2 Foundation book Module 1: T’est Branché - Unit 5.
Print out vocab lists included on hidden slides that wont show up during the presentation but can be printed off in advance of the lesson. Optional writing frame (depending on ability) for the final task. Can be easily adapted for more able or lower ability as necessary.

INTRO to Viva 2 Module 1 ¿Adónde vas normalmente de vacaciones?
Intro to holidays in the present tense for Y8, before going onto Viva 2 Module 1 - Mis vacaciones. Main focus is on countries and recap of the verb IR. Includes match up, gap fill, translations, listen and repeat, beat the teacher and a peer assessment task too.
VIVA AQA ROJO - ¡Desconectate! - Unidad 4 - ¿Cómo era el alojamiento?
Lesson aimed at top set Y10 but can easily be adapted. Lesson looking at different accommodation types and using the preterite and imperfect tenses together. Potential for at least 2 lessons worth of content. C easily build in more whole class questioning, whiteboard recall and retrieval practice.
Prior learning: preterite tense formation; imperfect tense formation; holiday vocabulary (countries, transport, activities). Pupils had already written an extended description of a past holiday (90 words) which they go back to this lesson and improve with a more detailed description of accomodation.
Starter: Gap fill - preterite tense text about a past holiday with key verbs removed. Pupils have to fill in the missing verbs then find the two mistakes - 2 of the verbs should be in the imperfect.
