I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. This assembly uses a school scenario similar to the story of The Good Samaritan. It involves asking for volunteers during the assembly to do some easy acting, something I always find maintains the whole school’s interest. It concludes with a discussion of Jesus’ parable of The Good Samaritan, which I would tell in just a few sentences, though you can use the link to a clip or read from the Bible. There is also an example prayer/reflection to finish with.
