This is a detailed lesson and PowerPoint explaining how a potential difference is induced by a magnet and coil of wire. This is the sixth lesson in the Electromagnetism unit of work (P7). The lesson covers the basic idea of inducing a PD and current, then moves on to explain how to work out the orientation of the current flow and induced magnetic field in a coil of wire. The differences between an alternator and dynamo are covered including the graphs of current over time.
