A creative writing lesson based around winning the world cup. Lesson was made during the world cup in the summer but is still useful for interesting students, particularly boys. Lesson is differentiated using aim/challenge/super challenge. Aimed at KS3 but can be adapted for older students.

A lesson teaching the poem ‘Remains’’ from the GCSE power and conflict poetry. Differentiated using the GCSE mark scheme. Includes context and language analysis tasks.

A Christmas Carol quiz consisting of 3 rounds and 40 questions. Aimed at GCSE students studying the text, to test their knowledge of the plot, characters and key quotations. Round 1 - A general knowledge of the book. Round 2 - The ghosts. Round 3 - Who said it.

Differentiated using aim/challenge/super challenge and the GCSE mark scheme. AImed at KS3 but can easily be adapted for KS4 students. Lesson asks students to think about what makes a typical gothic setting.Students watch clips and read through an extract from Dracula.

Lesson aimed at practicing skills for Paper 1, Question 5. Students discuss the typical features of a fairytale, watch clips from fairytales and from the TV show ‘Once Upon A Time.’ Students eventually write a story about a fairytale character in the real world.
