This lesson looks at why so many people died in the Titanic disaster, students consider whether the inquiry after the sinking reached the right conclusion. Students look at evidence to work out the most important reason why some many people lost their lives. Students found this more engaging than looking at why the titanic sank, and were able to create sophisticated judgments to explain the death toll differences of the first and third class passengers. Includes a worksheet to help with arranging information.

Choose which one would best fit your class A lesson that recaps the methods William used to keep control, culminating in students answering a GCSE style question about which method was the most important to William’s reign over England. The First lesson in a SOW intended for a three year GCSE looking at the AQA: America 1920 -1973. Students look at the impact of the first world war on America and the world, students investigate what the world was like before the war, they decide which country would be the best investment opportunity. They then investigate if they were right by looking at what the war did to the world. There is a GCSE question included with sentence starters for the less able and challenge tasks to stretch the top end. There is also a model answer for students to evaluate as a class or on their own.
