Students very much enjoy discussing topics in Economics that are relevant to then. This little cluster of resources enables teachers to discuss the recent launch of the Kindle Fire and how it affects demand and supply for the iPad. It includes a student made poster as well in Publisher and PDF Format. Do students think this is the correct interpretation or do thet think they could do it better? (This resource could also be used for ICT when discussing new technology.)

Please view the films before showing students, because they may not be suitable for all children. At the time I was teaching a fairly challenging set of children in Middlesbrough and wanted to show them that just because somebody is disabled it does not mean that they are not people and don't have fun! I hope it is a useful lesson.

This little activity gets students to think about different audiences and how to make an appealing logo. It also allows students to look at the difference between Vector packages and bitmap packages. As an extension students could also animate the logo. (The activity can be done by hand as an alternative.)

I made this for a performing arts enrichment for the students who did not want to be in the play. Students try to design a poster aimed directly at the audience by: 1. Having a standout image 2. Using the minimum amount of text 3. Being very clear about the audience & their motivation for seeing a play. I hope this PowerPoint saves you a bit of time trawling around for theatre posters and gives students some direction as to what is expected when making this kind of poster.

This was a lesson to encourage students to think about different disabilities, their prejudices and how people with disabilities still achieve amazing things. I hope its useful.

We used the Lego Mindstorms Robots for this, but you could use any Turtle or robot to compete in an Olympics. Simply put, we got students from neighbouring Primary Schools to come in and compete for the honour of winning the Robo Olympics. This Word table introduces students to Open Source software and asks why schools are still prepared to pay for commercial software? It is useful for familiarising students and teachers to software types, what is available for free and what benefits a school gets from commercial software.

Due to popular demand, here is a copy of the 'comprehensive' lesson plan I used during my PGCE. It is a blank plan designed to be very comprehensive and it ensured that I covered as many of the standards as possible. With the template, each lesson took about 15 minutes to make. Of course feel free to take a Pick and Mix approach.
