Conjugate Vendre - Present Tense French Conjugation Board Game This French board game for conjugating vendre in the present tense includes 37 numbered boxes. The first player to reach box 37 wins. There are a few tricks along the way, so getting to the end isn’t always so easy! Some boxes require students to conjugate the verb using the provided subject pronoun, and others require them to name the subject pronoun that matches the verb conjugation. Lots of repetition will really help them to memorize this very important verb! In groups of two to four, players take turns rolling a die to move their pieces forward. Spaces are numbered to keep track of which way they’re moving. Faire - Present Tense French Tic Tac Toe Games - No Prep Printable Tic Tac Toe is a fun game that your students already know how to play, and it is a simple way to get them conjugating, writing, and speaking the verb faire in the present tense. This resource includes two worksheets with 6 tic-tac-toe grids per page. One worksheet is for speaking answers, and the other one is for writing them. Photocopy on the front and back for a no-prep set of 12 grids for differentiated learning. Students play in pairs, conjugating faire so that it agrees with the subject pronoun in each box, saying answers aloud or writing them to claim squares on tic tac toe grids. Three correctly conjugated verbs in a row wins the game. Students need to use different colored pens or markers when writing their answers.

French Irregular Verbs Battleship Game - Bataille Navale Use this classic game format to have your students practice irregular French verbs. This is a NO PREP activity, just print and go. This set of battleship games features 5 versions with 40 verbs. Your students can play this game to practice conjugating in any tense. There is not an answer key due to the number of possible responses. A list of subject pronouns is written in the left column, and infinitives of irregular verbs or verbs with spelling changes are written on the top. French Connect 4 Game - ALLER - Present Tense This is a fun, quick, and easy way to have your beginner students review aller in the present tense. In order to win, students connect four boxes by filling them in with the correct conjugations of the verb aller, which is listed at the bottom of the game board. This is an easy to play 30 minute dice game to practice the French past subjunctive with 30 different verbs including regular ER, IR and RE verbs + YER verbs, ÊTRE, POUVOIR, LIRE, PRENDRE, ALLER, DIRE, APPRENDRE, SORTIR, AVOIR, SE COUCHER, ÉCRIRE, COMPRENDRE, VOIR, FAIRE, CONDUIRE, BOIRE, VENIR, DORMIR, VOULOIR, METTRE and PARTIR. Many expressions that are followed by the subjunctive are also used in this fun game. They are written in the simple future tense. My high school students love this dice game, and it can get very competitive if you decide to play it as a race (details are explained in the instructions). French Freebie: Activity to get your students speaking This resource is very similar to another one (also free) in which you’ll have students talking about the house, hotel, vacation, etc. of their worst nightmares. Students will talk all about the house, etc. of their dreams in this one. I like to use these resources one after the other while the content is still fresh, but the vocabulary will change dramatically when students shift from what they would love to what would give them nightmares! This is a no prep, one page activity for intermediate to advanced level students, and the content is perfectly suitable both for primary (French immersion) and secondary curriculums. There are fifteen questions that will have them talking about, for example, the house of their dreams. This is meant to be a paired or small group activity, but it is NOT meant to just have students take turns describing what they would love. The idea is to imagine that everyone in the group is going to live in the house together. There will probably be some things that everyone agrees on, and there will certainly be things they will disagree on. When I have my students do this activity, it’s always fun to watch them debate what is and what is not important. In the end, they can agree to disagree! Free French School Menu #1 Have a look at what’s on the menu at my kids’ school in France. Cheese every day!! I’ll be adding more menus weekly as I receive them. There are so many things a French teacher could do with these in class. It would be a fun cultural study to look up images of some of these menu items to show students what they look like and if they eat anything similar at their schools or homes. This could lead to a discussion on the length of time French students typically have to eat and rest as compared to students and teachers in your school.
