Hi! I currently work in London as a Deputy Headteacher. I love all things teaching and learning! I am extremely passionate about education and find researching and creating new strategies and ideas exciting. The world of teaching and leading in England is highly stressful and it's up to all of us to look after each other's well-being...I hope my resources save you some precious time.

Pupils are taken through a week-long journey, starting at bridging, developing bridging and then applying and problem solving. The activities are fun, visual and will support children's understanding. L.Os are:
I can add by bridging.
I can subtract by bridging.
I can add and subtracts to find a pattern.
I can work backwards to solve a number problem.
I can prove or disprove a statement about addition and subtraction.
This was made for Y2 but can easily be differentiated by changing numbers/statements. I have included the answers to the questions to make your life a little easier!
If you do have any questions or need any support, please send me a message.

This presentation was created for SLT and governors to consider how to improve the mental well-being of their staff; a topic, which I feel strongly about. In the current climate, it is more important than ever to look after the mental well-being of staff. This presentation has: an intro, facts and figures, a look into what mental well-being is and how it impacts a school and some tips for getting started on how to improve the mental well-being of your staff.
This presentation can be adapted to suit other audiences by changing some of the wording.
If you have any questions or need any support, send me a message and I'll do anything I can to help.

An activity booklet with 9 thought-provoking activities to support your pupils to improve their mindset. These activities are designed to encourage pupils to dig deeper and understand themselves better. Guide them through these activities and alongside teaching, they should start to understand how to improve their mindset. There are two questionnaires, one for the beginning of the project and one meant for when you have promoted a growth mindset for a few months. You can use this to analyse change.

Emotional well-being presentation and activity booklet.
Good mental well-being has become harder to maintain as life becomes increasingly hectic. That's why it must be our priority to help pupils to understand their own mental well-being and know how to improve it.
This great presentation is full of ideas, starters, suggested activities and examples aimed at supporting pupils to improve and maintain a healthy mental well-being. There is also a 12 page booklet, which compliments the presentation. Activities range from thinking about what makes them happy to designing their own happy place to setting goals to thinking about how helping others can lead to being a happier person.

Many of hours of work went in to creating this whole-school curriculum map. Am uploading is to hopefully save you lots of time as you can simply edit it rather than start from scratch.

A editable pupil survey to better understand primary school pupils’ thoughts and feelings about their lessons, class and school. The survey uses for cats’ faces for a bit of fun! There are closed 16 questions and 2 open questions at the end. I have used this survey from Y1-Y6. I read and explained the questions to classes.
This is my own personal statement for the position of Assistant Headteacher for Teaching, Learning and Curriculum - a job which I got.
Being able to download someone else’s personal statement while writing mine, would have been a huge help. Therefore, I thought offering mine, would give practitioners an option to view one before they start writing their own and thus having new ideas and a clear structure.
Obviously, every personal statement should be tailored to the person specification but it is easy to use ideas from this personal statement and shuffle them around accordingly. I have removed specific names from the personal statement and instead typed, XXX.
This assignment includes my: blood, sweat and tears! This is my NPQSL assignment and is focused on improving writing in a primary school. I really wish I’d had an NPQSL example assignment to look at while I was writing mine as it would have stopped me second guessing myself. However, I passed with flying colours and am now offering mine to you to make the process much easier.
I uploaded the assignment on 8.2.16 and received feedback on 29.3.16. Feedback (as shown on first page) awarded all of the 9 competencies as passed at the required level. The written feedback was excellent and only includes strengths, no areas for development.
I have deleted several appendices because they included photographic evidence of specific events/individuals. I would recommend that you consider doing this also as visuals are always a nice break from a lengthy piece of text. However, I have kept my action plan and report to the Headteacher in the appendices as I feel these are important for your reference.

A section from my written feedback:
'Strengths were demonstrated in Delivering continuous improvement as your priorities for improvement were clearly linked to your vision for the project. You regularly reviewed progress and reflected on actions and achievements of pupils in writing. The Action plan and strategies were fully implemented and you skilfully monitored planning, teaching, learning and assessment data. Throughout the project you remained solution-focused. In terms of Modelling excellence in leadership of teaching and learning you demonstrated
excellent leadership of teaching and learning. You set up and embedded the writing initiatives and adapted the teaching and learning approaches to suit the needs of pupils. It is evident that you have high expectations, model excellence and vision and have shared ideas and practice very effectively. Staff have been provided with the clarity they need in order to feel empowered and accountable in their role. Strengths were demonstrated in Learning focus as you set up and embedded the writing initiative and applied theory and knowledge of learning to improve outcomes for pupils. It is evident that you are committed to learning and achieving excellence and led valuable inset for staff to improve their subject knowledge in grammar, planning and writing. ’
An interesting and engaging poem on the fear and devastation caused by earthquakes. The 1,2,1,2 rhyming poem gives pupils an insight to the loss that someone may feel. The poem comes with writing paper for pupils to write their own poem about an earthquake and poetry comprehension questions.
A presentation looking at what a pattern is with real-life examples and explaining how to continue a pattern.

A months worth of words with word type and definition to improve pupils vocabulary choices. There are also photos of displays, a template for display and an activity idea linked to improving pupils vocabulary. Colour-coding word types hugely improved my classes understanding of grammar.
67 flashcards covering all sounds from Phase 2 - Phase 5 in Letters and Sounds. This is one resource, which has been a saviour for many years now. Cut out and laminate the sounds and you have a great, durable set of sounds to aid the teaching of phonics.
Phase 2 - blue border
Phase 3 - orange border
Phase 5 - green border
One key element in the teaching of phonics is to revisit previous sounds taught - using these flashcards is a great way to do just that! Lots of games can be played using flashcards, including, 'your pile, my pile'.
I have uploaded them as a PDF file and also as a word document, in case you wish to edit.

A short presentation to explain to pupils what Black Friday is. As we know, Black Friday has almost appeared from nowhere and pupils are confused by the emphasis on Black Friday by the mass media. This presentation explains what Black Friday is and where it's come from.
There are many fun activities, which can be done around Black Friday. Included are three activities: design a Black Friday shop window, design a Black Friday shopping bag and reduce prices in your shop (percentages).
Any questions, please just ask. Thank you for looking.
