It is a great way to support children who struggle to write independently. Colourful Semantics helps children to: •Develop a wider vocabulary •Make sentences longer •Develop use of nouns, verbs, prepositions and adjectives •Improve story telling skills The colour scheme relates to the types of words in a sentence: Who? This handy pack of 54 fronted adverbials and prepositions helps support struggling writers when writing more complex sentences. The fronted adverbials are used at the beginning of a sentence to give more information about the action in the main clause. The difference in colour helps to remind children that they are separate from the main clause and must include a comma.
