This lesson introduces learners to the contents and purpose of a business plan, we discuss the sections of a plan, we then go on to look at an infamous example of what it shouldn’t be like in Solomon’s plan presented to Claude Littner in the Apprentice. A 3 mark question with a model answer, a few short tasks before going onto creating a business plan in groups, a template has been provided. Students present back their plans to the class and the class are provided with a sheet to write WWW and EBI with their peers presentations.

This set of resources can be delivered over 2-3 lessons and includes 1x PPT and 2x word files. We start with a practical starter to introduce job, batch and flow production methods. For each production method we look at real life examples such as a wedding dress for job production.
We then go on to look at cell production, productivity and efficiency, each with their formulas. We look at a case study of a chocolate manufacturer that uses batch production, a 10 mark question based on this, with structure guidance and model answer provided for students to peer assess and make improvements. A second 10 marker is included on lean production on a different chocolate manufacturer, again with guidance and a model answer - a good day for chocolate lovers!

This double lesson introduces learners to the world of globalisation. We start by looking at what globalisation is, with examples of the UKs trade with other countries. We look at causes of globalisation such as containerisation and others. Students research the impacts of globalisation on countries, governments, consumers, producers and the environment before filling in any gaps in knowlege on the following slides. We also look at some video case studies of Nike and Apple to better understand the pros and cons of globaslisation. A box plenary to finish with.

This lesson introduces learners to the role of the father. We start by discussing what the role of the father might be and how it has changed, before looking at numerous studies with different findings on the role of the father. Knowledge is consolidated through some multiple choice questions and true or false statements. Students complete an evaluation task before we go through evaluation points as a class to fill any gaps in understanding. A debate task, exam style question and model answer to help with self/peer assessment. Finally, we end with a box plenary.

This double lesson introduces learners to types of stock, bar gate stock graphs and different systems of stock control. We start by looking at different categories of stock, before walking through step by step with animations, the bar gate stock graph - a few examples are looked at before students are encouraged to draw their own (not required to draw but it really helps to understand the chart).
We then go on to look at just in time and just in case with their respective pros and cons before looking at a case study on a luxury retailer that has adopted JIT stock control system - a 12 mark question on this, structure guidance and a concise model answer is provided for students to peer assess and improve their answers.

This lesson introduces learners to the value of a SWOT analysis. We start by looking at what a SWOT analysis is and the types of questions we need to ask ourselves to find out our SWOT. We then contextualise with a few activities and examples such as Mcdonald’s, Thornton’s and a brief sorting activity with Apples SWOT.
We then go on to look at a concise case study on BHP the large mining company, students can work in pairs or a group to assess the companies position using SWOT, the outcomes of this can be used to answer a 9 mark question based on the case study. A concise model answer is included for students to peer assess. We finish with a kahoot quiz!

We start with looking at some real examples before identifying how culture is formed, we look at the four different types of cultures that students are required to learn, followed by what influences these four types of cultures. This lesson introduces learners to the topic of Obedience, as investigated by Milgram in 1963. We start off with some quick activities to engage students into the topic of obedience before looking at what obedience actually is. We then introduce Stanley Milgram, his motivation for studying obedience, the details of his study, conclusions and evaluation. Video tasks and a sheet to complete while watching the video, so students can extract the key information from this study, rather than just telling the students.
