An student led lesson to help students understand the role of the CQC in regulating and inspecting service. The lessons starts with a brief video outlining what CQC does with some brief questions to keep students focused. Then students are provided with a framework (with suggested teacher answers) to help guide their research using course textbooks and the internet. Finally students are provided with 'dominos' to review their knowledge of the CQC as a plenary.

A lesson which helps students outline and evaluate retrieval failure. This include a presentation which outline the key points of the theory. A handout which include 2 studies (Godden and Baddeley & Carter and Cassaday) and some evaluation prompts (with answers) to help students develop their own evaluation points. There is also a set of quiz quiz trade cards that might be useful for revision of interference theory and retrieval failure (useful as a plenary or starter next lesson)

There are powerpoints and appropriate handouts for 2 one hour lessons. The first to outline and apply knowledge of MSM and the second to evaluate MSM. The powerpoints have a range of activities and instructions included. There are a number of resources to support the lesson including a video of Clive Wearing, application tasks (with answers) and an essay plan (and model 12 mark answer).

This is a 1-2 hour lesson which should help students outline Asch's original study and 3 variations (group size, unanimity and task difficulty) as well as to evaluate Asch. This includes a powerpoint and a student handout/worksheet which provides them with key information and activities to complete during the lesson. In addition to this there is a 'blankety blank' style quiz/game to help students review the content of the lesson. Excellent as a plenary or a starter the following lesson to review the content.

A powerpoint which outlines how to evaluate research studies using the mnemonic GRAVE (generalisability, reliability, application, validity (internal and ecological) ethics. This powerpoint defines each of the key terms as well as examples (and/or mini discussion activities) of each of these to develop students understanding of these concepts. The lesson ends with a review of other research methods (sampling techniques, design types, experimental types etc) using a 'you say we pay' style game. This is where one student stands with their back to the board and the class describe the key terms to them.

A lesson to outline psychodynamic approach. This includes a powerpoint, short video and handout to help students understand the influence of the unconscious mind, psychosexual stages, 3 parts of personality and ego defence mechanisms. There is a mixture of teacher led and student led activities. Access to the internet is recommended for a small section of the lesson but this could easily be copied & printed for students.
