I have been Head of RE, Pastoral Lead and Head of PSHE & Citizenship in my 19 year teaching career. I am currently Head of PSHE & Citizenship at a large secondary school 11-18. My shop includes: PSHE and Citizenship sessions, Assemblies, Tutor Time activities SMSC, Fundamental British Values and Religious Education. This is a 90 minute KS4 lesson about the Hillsborough Disaster focusing on the issue of social action. This lesson should be shown alongside the story of Anne Williams and the ITV documentary, Anne Williams: Unfinished Business (not the dramatised four part one). It covers: What happened at Hillsborough The lies that were told The processes of the inquests The details of the event Justice for the 97 court verdict The refusal to buy The Sun newspaper The Hillsborough Law It is fully narrated but the icon on each slide can easily be deleted if you would prefer no narration. There are written or discussion activities which focus on social action and justice including do it now tasks and a review activity. The documentary is downloaded and clipped so you do not have to wait for the adverts and it will never disappear! This is suitable for KS4 and KS5 (Years 10-13, Ages 15-18) as the video does include limited swearing and an image of Kevin Williams on the pitch. All proceeds from your purchase will be donated to the Hillsborough Justice Campaign.

This is a 10-15 minute assembly for Epilepsy Awareness Day in March 2022. It can also be easily adapted to be used at any other time of the year to raise awarness of epilepsy in your school. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grades 6-12) and has been used as a whole school assembly. This is a 60 minute lesson on religious symbols which goes through each of the major 6 religious symbols for pupils to explore, copy down, colour and learn about. This can be adapted for a longer or a shorter lesson. It contains a true or false quiz, discussion, written and extension activities. It was originally a Year 7 lesson but can be used across the whole of KS2 or KS3 (7-18 years old). This was originally a PSHE tutor time 15 minute session on Character Education and how to be a have a good character for KS2, KS3 or KS4 (Years 5-13, Ages 9-18). It can be shortened to 10 minutes or lengthened to 25 with discussion activities. There are no written activities in this powerpoint, just discussion tasks, a video that is downloaded so will never disappear and information for students to think about and discuss. This follows the Character Education guidance released by the DfE and the new Relationships & Sex & Health Education Curriculum in 2020. Students responded well to this session.

This is a 15-20 minute assembly on the important issue of hate crime. It can be used for all KS3, KS4 & KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) year groups as an assembly, a tutor time session or a PSHE whole school lesson. It was originally a tutor time PSHE session for Year 10. This is a 15-20 minute assembly on homophobia. It lasts 15-20 minutes and includes discussion questions and a downloaded video that will never disappear. It gives students sources of support and guides them through the legal implications of hate crime, particularly homophobia and transphobia. This was delivered to Year 7 in a tutor time PSHE session but is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18, Grades 6-12) and could be used as an assembly instead. There are no written tasks in this PowerPoint. This fits into the new RSE and Health Curriculum and is a useful whole school tutor time session to approach the issue of homophobia in schools.

This is a 15-20 minute assembly about community cohesion. It can be used for a tutor time PSHE session or whole school session for KS3, KS4 & KS5 (Ages 11-18, years 7-13) and tackles the important issue of cohesion amongst the community. It has one slide that is specific to Birmingham but this can be altered or still used outside the city. There are discussion questions and no written activities although these could be easily adapted to last for an entire lesson if needed. It includes: What Community Cohesion is Why it it important Has Community Cohesion improved in the city & in the UK? Plenary thinking task about our responsibility to make our community cohesive. It has two downloaded video clips that will never disappear. Students reacted very positively to this resource; it was originally a Year 10 tutor time PSHE/Citizenship session and fits into the PSHE, RSHE, FBV, SMSC and Citizenship curriculum.

This is a PowerPoint with different moral questions to make students think. For example, “if you borrow a million pounds are you a millionaire?”, “Can you get lost if you don’t know where you are going.” These are great discussion questions for assemblies, debates or citizenship/PSHE/SMSC provision. This was originally a 60 minute Year 10 lesson to introduce the world of work and preparing for job interviews. It covers body language, dress, how to give a good impression at an interview, body language and some suggested careers. There is a worksheet to accompany it with this lesson but it can be used without it. This lesson is suitable for older KS3-KS4 pupils (13-18 years old) and as part of their PSHE, Careers or Work Experience session in a tutor time. It can be easily shortened or lengthened and has worked well with my students.
