This is a 90 minute KS4 lesson about the Hillsborough Disaster focusing on the issue of social action. This lesson should be shown alongside the story of Anne Williams and the ITV documentary, Anne Williams: Unfinished Business (not the dramatised four part one). This is a 60 minute lesson on religious symbols which goes through each of the major 6 religious symbols for pupils to explore, copy down, colour and learn about. This can be adapted for a longer or a shorter lesson. It contains a true or false quiz, discussion, written and extension activities. It was originally a Year 7 lesson but can be used across the whole of KS2 or KS3 (7-18 years old). This was originally a PSHE tutor time 15 minute session on Character Education and how to be a have a good character for KS2, KS3 or KS4 (Years 5-13, Ages 9-18). It can be shortened to 10 minutes or lengthened to 25 with discussion activities. There are no written activities in this powerpoint, just discussion tasks, a video that is downloaded so will never disappear and information for students to think about and discuss. This follows the Character Education guidance released by the DfE and the new Relationships & Sex & Health Education Curriculum in 2020. Students responded well to this session.

It can be used for KS3 or KS4 (Aged 11-16) to give students a better understanding of the religion. It includes video clips, discussion tasks, written tasks and a quiz to check learning. It is simple to edit if you require a shorter or longer lesson.

This is a PowerPoint with different moral questions to make students think. For example, “if you borrow a million pounds are you a millionaire?”, “Can you get lost if you don’t know where you are going.” These are great discussion questions for assemblies, debates or citizenship/PSHE/SMSC provision. They will improve communication skills in tutor time sessions or as starters to lessons. They are appropriate for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (11-18 years old).

This is a KS3, KS4 or KS5 lesson (ages 11-18) focusing on Rastafarianism. It explores the different practices e.g. ital food, dreadlocks, reasoning sessions. This was originally a 60 minute Year 10 lesson to introduce the world of work and preparing for job interviews. It covers body language, dress, how to give a good impression at an interview, body language and some suggested careers. There is a worksheet to accompany it with this lesson but it can be used without it. This lesson is suitable for older KS3-KS4 pupils (13-18 years old) and as part of their PSHE, Careers or Work Experience session in a tutor time. It can be easily shortened or lengthened and has worked well with my students.
