A 4 - week unit of work focussing on story writing. Used in Year 4 but could easily be adapted for UKS2. A detailed 4-week (20 lessons) unit in the style of T4W covering the Imitation, Innovation and Independent writing based on writing a portal story. For each week there are resources (all labelled with what lesson), powerpoint slides (so all can access), images and other resources needed. Each day there are starters, inputs, differentiated activities and plenaries in the format of Powerpoint The objectives covered in this unit are: • Writing for emotion • Show not tell • Prepositions • Clauses • Expanded Noun Phrases A few of the lessons do reference Rainbow Grammar. You can still do these lessons even if you don’t follow Rainbow Grammar. It is self-explanatory and the slides do go through it all. Lessons 1 – 5 are all on separate PowerPoint slides but the rest of the lessons are on one PowerPoints for ease. If there is anything missing, please let me know so I can rectify. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching this unit. Happy teaching!
