A 33 slide ppt presentation I created to teach 3A “Guten Appetit”,an introduction to food and drink in German, based on Zoom 1 Deutsch. Please note I devised this lesson as a cover lesson, i.e. for students to work on independentl, but it can be perfectly used in a normal lesson as well with a bit of tweaking. NOTE: look at the bottom of the slides (not in presentation mode), as sometimes I have added instructions on what to do in each activity.

A resource created for pupils taking the Edexcel Spanish IGCSE 9-1 exam to show them how to prepare for tasks B and C from the oral exam. This bundle includes 2 different ppt presentations where students are shown sample A* (grade 8,9) sentences so they have a reference on how prepare these by themselves, and to know how to make them reach grade 8/9. One of the presentations was specifically designed for a bottom set (using basic tenses they should know by the end of yr 11), whereas the other was designed for a very able top set (includes examples of present subjunctive, imperfect, etc). The latter can be turned into a task: instead of providing students with the sample answers already, you can set them the task to translate these from English into Spanish (answers provided). This means your A* sample answer will be provided in English for students to practise translation skills. It’s up to you how you want to exploit this resource.

This resource includes a 136-slide ppt presentation I prepared to teach the new Edexcel International GCSE 9-1 for my Year 4 (10) group. As the textbook isn’t great, I created many extra resources to combine with working on the textbook. That includes introduction of new tenses, among others. What’s included: resources for Unit 2: Self, family and friends - at home and abroad, which at the same time includes activities for section: 2B Daily routine and helping at home --> subsections 2B.1 to 2B.3 are all included. I have different bundles available on my profile for each textbook topic.

It mainly focuses on Mi vida diaria, so you will find a lot more resources for this sub-unit than for el mundo hispano. A lesson based on the Mira 3 (rojo) textbook, “Me gustan los idiomas” topic.

Inspired on social media trends, this resource is made up of 5 sheets of paper with 60 everyday life items for students to practise comparisons. The idea is for students to first choose, in each instance, which item they prefer (e.g. sightseeing vs relaxing in the beach), then go through all of them together to have a more detailed chat. Items belong to a range of categories so that the conversations will touch up on food, holidays, seasons, etc. Activity is perfect to use as an ice-breaker or simply for general conversation.

24 different cards which include a character, their name, mood, age, birthday, where they live and number of pets they have. How to carry out this task: students get to walk around the classroom and ask each other the 6 basic questions (como te llamas, como estas, donde vives, etc) according to what they have on their card. Once done, they swap cards and move on to introduce themselves to a different peer. You can get students to do this in the first person or even in the third person if you want to work different verb endings. These cards are easily adaptable to any language and you can edit the information any time. Print in colour and laminate them, they will last you a lifetime. This activity was designed to go with Mira 1 as a recap of the first module once module 3 has been done as well (as that’s when pets are introduced).

A lesson planned to celebrate Earth Day with my EAL learners (advanced level). 10 slides which contain opportunities to work on vocabulary, grammar, listening comprehension (videos), speaking and even 2 projects for students to choose from. A powerpoint I created to help my year 8 and year 9 groups practise verb tenses before the summer exams. Year 8 (second year): present, preterite and near future year 9 (third year): present, preterite, near and simple future. this resource does not include verb endings, but tables for students to fill in and practise verb conjugations in their 6 forms (there are some common irregulars). Answers included for them to work independently and check their own answers.
