As the textbook isn’t great, I created many extra resources to combine with working on the textbook. That includes introduction of new tenses, among others. A 25-slide ppt which covers the relevant language to teach Module 2.3 Que haces cuando llueve? from the Viva 1 textbook. Ppt introduces weather conditions, seasons and links it to free time activities. It has some links to kahoots as well as 2 different vocab tests. There are a range of activities to practise all the skills. Check out the bottom notes on each slide - you will find instructions to tasks.

This resource includes a 127 slide ppt presentation I prepared to teach the new Edexcel International GCSE 9-1 for my yr10 group. It comes with two extra lists of vocabulary for students to revise, and two versions of vocabulary tests to be done at the end of every-subsection, and overall a good range of activities that train the 4 skills, and grammar. I have also attached the list of vocabulary provided by the textbook for the Unit 1 Everyday life at home and school, corresponding to sections 1A to 1D, ALREADY FILLED IN WITH THE TRANSLATIONS for students to use as revision if you dont want to spend time from the lesson/homework to get them to write them down. A 100-slide ppt which covers the relevant language to teach Module 3.1 ¿Qué te gusta comer? from the Viva 2 textbook. You will find plenty of vocabulary for students to be able to talk at length about food & drink, say what they like and dislike and why, say what they like eating/drinking/having and why, a range of adjectives to describe food & drink, and the introduction of the direct object pronoun to stretch high attainers. Ppt contains vocab sheets if you print these for your ss; vocab tests and activities to put all skills into practice. There are a good amount of starter/plenary ideas included, and 2 vocab test that can be easily adapted. Check out the bottom notes on each slide - often you will find instructions to tasks / links to relevant blookets and kahoots.

A ppt which covers the relevant language to teach Module 2.4 Qué hiciste ayer from the Viva 2 textbook. As the preterite tense was introduced a module ago, I created a range of mainly listening comprehension activities following Gianfranco Conti’s communicative approach. This lesson is thus very teacher-led at the start, engaging students in a different range of activities which go at a fast and dynamic pace. On the notes pane you will find instructions on how to conduct each activity. Answers also included.

A nice differentiated pair speaking task where student A and B take turns to test each other in the understanding of topic vocabulary. Suitable for the GCSE topic of special occasions and festivities. Student A has a set of 15 sentences to review the topic of special occasions and festivals that student B needs to answer correctly in order to move up the ladder, one at a time. A has the correct translations of these sentences. Student B has another set of 15 sentences (with the meaning as well) to test A.

This resource covers unit 5.3 from the Stimmt 2 textbook ‘Ich mache mich fertig’, dealing with the second part on the topic of first dates (resources for this available on my profile) and with forming questions in the 2nd person singular. 25 slides with vocabulary and exercises following closely pages 102 and 103 from the textbook including some additions to it. NOTE: look at the bottom of the slides (not in presentation mode) as sometimes there are instructions on what to do in each activity.

Viva 3 - Modules 1-4 retrieval practice starters for exam revision These are good to do as starters before a module exam is going to take place, or as revision before end of year exams. PPT contains 4 slides, 1 for module 1 - somos asi; 1 for module 2 - oriéntate; 1 version of module 3 - en forma; and 1 version of module 4 - reciclamos. Please note unit 4.3 is the only unit from module 4 I based this on, as we don’t teach anything else from that module, so if you want to add content from other units, you’ll need to edit the activity. All the other slides include items from each sub-unit within the module, ensuring everything is revisited. Each slide contains 12 questions ranging from very easy - easy - challenging - difficult for students to translate into either language, or come up with a short explanation / phrase. The harder the question, the more points they can take if they get it right. The idea is for them to do it at the back of their book / on a MWB. Answers appear on click. Allow at least 15 minutes of the lesson for it to be done properly.

Activity took 2 hours to create but it was well worth it - students worked in pairs and had fun trying to complete the activity first. Rewards can be given for extra motivation. As students will have to read the text carefully, the whole activity will easily take at least 30 minutes to carry out. All instructions and handouts required inside of pack. Answers included too. A different and fun way to get students reading for detail without complaining!

This resource covers unit 5.1 from the Stimmt 1 textbook ‘In der Stadt’, dealing with places in town (es gibt) and negatives (keinen/keine/kein). 50 slides with vocabulary and exercises following closely pages 98 and 99 from the textbook and including additions and variations to it. It includes a consolidation 36-card fun card game to play in pairs or small groups (all instructions in the notes pane). NOTE: for instructions on what to do in certain activities, look at the notes pane.

Revision lesson I created to prepare my AS students for an exam on the topic of marriage and relationships. It includes a range of activities that cover the 4 skills and a detailed lesson plan that you can follow.

A quick lesson devised for a year 7 class to introduce hobbies and pastimes using the present tense. it includes a lesson plan, quiz-quiz trade as plenary to test AfL, a differentiated reading which includes a short writing activity and a basic starter to introduce hobbies. Good for job interviews.

A lesson I created for my AS group to be able to give in favour / against arguments based on new technologies. Its quite of an interactive lesson, with 2 different speaking activities, a reading, a matching and a grammar activity. It also comes with a lesson plan.
