A lesson that allows students to revise a set of key quotes (resources provided). Tips and quick wins are on the PowerPoint Students can also look at/ practice and assess model 5 mark answers ( I recently did an AQA training course and based the answers on this) All models are worth 5 marks. I have tried to teach y11 to condense how much they write in a 5 mark question as many run out of time in the exam. There are opportunities for students to practice using Point-Evidence-Explain with suggested strategies for the long 12 mark answer

6 HOURS WORTH OF LESSON TIME/ REVISION A comprehensive set of lessons that look at 1. Exam technique in Q3/4 2. How to apply quotes 3. Generic revision of quotes for the themes: Relationships and families/ Peace and conflict/ Crime and Punishment. 4. Islam keywords revision 5. Exam practice and self assessment opportunities 6. In depth look at the 4 mark contrast/ similar questions I used lots of documents off the AQA website to support ie: the teachers guide/ keywords etc. You may need to download these to support the lessons yourself. These lessons could be adapted to any topic you teach.

Politics and Participation Mock Paper and Mark Scheme I have created a 40 mark mock exam paper that is modelled by the sample questions offered by AQA. Lesson outcomes: To know what Muslims believe the purpose of the family is. To explain Muslim attitudes to different types of family. To evaluate Mohammad’s teachings about the family The lesson is fully resourced and can be used alongside the OXFORD textbook. Students are encouraged to create an advice leaflet (template on the powerpoint) about the importance of family in Islam. The lesson also addresses the importance of the family supporting the Ummah in Islam. This lesson ends with students using their knowledge to write a 5 mark answer with peer assessment guidance and model answers.
