A form devised for using when marking a students 12 mark answer for the 9-1 AQA specification in religious studies

I designed this lesson to help students with the planning of their own actions for the independent project. In addition the lesson supports students in being able to develop their own ideas for the questions within paper 2 that ask students to assess their own project. The PowerPoint allows there to be a lot of class discussion and higher order thinking In addition a detailed worksheet is included where students can highlight the positives and negatives of different types of action - very useful for revision. Outcomes: To describe different ways people can become active citizens To explain the pros and cons of different actions To decide which types of action are most effective

A lesson designed to encourage students to explore what primary and secondary research are and their pros and cons. The lesson fits nicely as an introductory lesson to use when students start to plan and consider their own citizenship actions. There are worksheets and activities embedded onto the PowerPoint slides. It could potentially span two lessons. There are mini plenaries and suggested video clips with questions. The lesson ends on a few short 2 mark exam questions.

A worksheet and lesson to supplement the film Heaven is Real. Excellent for teaching life after death at GCSE also superb for religious experiences. I have written and attached an advice for teachers sheet which give discussion points and timings. Kids loved it as it's based on a true story. I show them the YouTube clips of the actual interviews after the lesson.

A lesson that looks at miracles and whether they happen using a biblical example. Students are encourages to assess a series of scenarios at the start of the lesson and depict which they think is a miracle. Students then are encouraged to define the word miracle. This then leads on to allow students to analyse a biblical miracle. YOU WILL NEED THE MOVE 'MIRACLE MAKER' and show the section which portrays the 'Raising of Jairus's daughter' OR you could find the story from the Bible.

A revision lesson that looks at an 8 mark question and key topics about types of punishment and sentences in the UK Complete with revision information and worksheets Outcomes: To identify different types of custodial and non-custodial sentences To describe why some people agree/ disagree with punishments in the UK To evaluate whether you think prison is effective (8 mark question practice)

This lesson uses current affairs for students to look at what identity and what it means to be British means to different people. The lesson then concludes with students thinking about the positives and negatives of living in a multicultural society. Complete with activities/ suggested clips and exam practice Outcomes: To know what the Windrush Scandal was. To explain how immigrants shape our British Identity To evaluate what problems and benefits there can be in a multicultural society

This lesson serves as an introduction to looking at the changes the prophet (pbuh) made in Pre-Islamic Arabia. Complete with outcomes/ activities and mini-plenaries. Suggested Youtube clips too! Planned for KS3 Y8 however it could be adapted as an intro for Y10-11 etc because it looks at the treatment of women. I am currently writing a series of lessons like this to challenge misconceptions and stereotypes in Islam

An introductory lesson that supplements the Oxford Textbook for this course. Using pages 77-78. I have split the lesson into two halves - it is designed for a 2 hr double lesson so some tasks allow students to get out their seats and gather information etc. (all activities resourced but can be easily adapted) The lesson has: 1. Clear outcomes 2. Discussion activities 3. Comprehension tasks 4. Information sheets 5. A range of activities 6. Exam questions with model answers and opportunity for peer assessment.

This lesson was a lesson I planned in response to students responses to a (d) question from the OXFORD textbook which stated 'There are more similarities than differences between Shi’a and Sunni Muslims’ The lesson is planned with lots of exam structure tips/ mats/ mark schemes etc. to plan the perfect (d) answer. Relevant slides would need to be printed and handed to the students . There's an around the room activity and opportunity for peer and self assessent Lesson outcomes: To identify key differences between Shi’ah and Sunni Muslims To understand why there are differences To evaluate the statement ‘There are more similarities than differences between Shi’a and Sunni Muslims’

This lesson looks at celebrations and commemorations in Islam following the new spec. Complete with worksheet and activities that supplement the OXFORD textbook. There's an opportunity for students to attempt a C question and self-assess it against a model answer.

This lesson supplements the OXFORD textbook and uses pages 90-92 I have included differentiated activities and worksheets. The Holy week lesson uses more than the textbook in that students use information to devise a comic strip of events

A lesson that explores the 3 values that underpin a democratic society with a variety of activities. eg. card sort/ image enquiry etc. All resources are included. Outcomes are: Define the key terms rights, freedoms and responsibilities. Explain why rights, freedoms and responsibilities are important values within a democracy. Evaluate whether rights, freedoms and responsibilities make society fair and just.
