This lesson focuses on Thanksgiving origins and traditions. It is based on a video with 23 listening comprehension questions + keys. As a follow up teachers can ask students how their Thanksgiving is different from the first one or what Thanksgiving means today. A Venn Diagram could be used to compare modern traditions with old ones, etc.. The questions help non native English students to improve their listening skills and to learn about an American important holiday. It is suitable for upper intermediate or advanced ESL students aged 14 and up, or native speakers who are not familiar with the origins and the history of the holiday aged 12-16.
