UNWRITTEN by Natasha Bedingfield
This lesson focuses on a very popular song Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield. It contains a fill in the gaps for ESL students and a set of discussion questions suitable for native speakers as well as ESL students. The discussion questions guide students to understand the message of the song and invite them to share how they see themselves and the world. It helps ESL students to practice their listening and speaking skills, while teachers of native speakers can use this song to encourage students to think of their life like a book and themselves as the authors. The ideal age group for this lesson would be 14 to 18.
Trick or treat song and fill in the gaps
This lesson is perfect for Halloween. Based on the popular song “Trick or Treat” students learn about foods and how to classify them according to their characteristics. The packet contains a fill in the gaps to boost children’s listening skill and a worksheet to help children categorize foods. As a follow up teachers could bring to school some foods and have children blindfolded taste them and guess what they are. Also teachers could ask each students to describe their favorite food and tell the class why they like it. The lesson is suitable for native speakers grade 1 to 5 and upper beginner ESL students aged 8 to 12.
