Graph Skills Guidance Booklet

Graph Skills Guidance Booklet

(1)
Information booklet which gives students guidance on how to: Draw even scales Draw lines/curves of best fit Describe & explain a trend (including identifying strong/weak/positive/negative correlations) Plot range bars Interpolate/extrapolate Calculate gradient Write a linear equation I have these out on the tables every time students are drawing a graph to serve as a ‘self-help’ guide in the first instance. Used with Y7 up to Y11.

Energy Changes Workbook (Revision/Independent Learning/Classroom Use)

(1)
I created this workbook for my students when studying energy changes (exothermic/endothermic reactions, uses/applications, energy level diagrams, breaking/making bonds, bond energy/overall energy change calculations, planning to investigate temperature change). I have tried to include concise, clear notes for students to refer to, and lots of practice questions. There is a section for students to write down key definitions (most of these are indicated clearly within the text). I hope it is useful for you!

Explaining Melting/Boiling Points Worksheet (C3)

(0)
Scaffolded worksheet that shows students how to answer questions on melting/boiling point and link these to structure and bonding. Includes examples for giant covalent, ionic, simple molecular and metallic. Students use their new skills to answer 4 real past exam questions. Good for revising C3 (Structure and Bonding).
Structure, Bonding & Properties Information Sheet

Structure, Bonding & Properties Information Sheet

(0)
Information sheet on how the structure and bonding of ionic, covalent and metallic compounds influence their properties. Each section includes an example exam question. Designed for AQA GCSE Combined Science Trilogy C3 topic (Structure, Bonding & Properties of Matter). Could be used as part of an independent learning task.

Earth's Atmosphere Workbook (Revision/Independent Learning/Classroom Use)

(1)
I created this workbook for my students when studying atmosphere (composition of the early and modern atmospheres, greenhouse effect, global warming & climate changes, carbon footprint and atmospheric pollution). I have tried to include concise, clear notes for students to refer to, and some practice questions. There is a section for students to write down key definitions (most of these are indicated clearly within the text). I hope it is useful for you!
Forces at a Distance Worksheet & Extension Task (Mass, Weight and Gravitational Field Strength)

Forces at a Distance Worksheet & Extension Task (Mass, Weight and Gravitational Field Strength)

(0)
Worksheet I created for Y7 with the AQA Activate 1 - Forces at a Distance topic in mind, although it could be used/adapted for other specifications and year groups. There are 2 worksheets (one has been condensed to 1 page, whereas the other has larger text and boxes) and sheets for the extension task to be placed around the room (all images used on this sheet are under a CC0 license, free for personal or commerical use without attribution). The students will need graph paper to complete the second part of the extension. Hope you and your students enjoy it!
Voltage in Series Circuits

Voltage in Series Circuits

(0)
Combined instruction/results sheet used for a short Y7 practical on voltage in series circuits. Students measure the voltage across each individual bulb, then across the battery, to see if there is a link. Limited written instructions, so used with SEN students or those who find reading/interpreting instructions difficult.
