This resource pack is designed to provide a range of activities to support the teaching of synonyms. It could either be used as a lesson to introduce or revise the subject or as a means of consolidating various concepts.
This resource pack should enable pupils to:
understand what is meant by the term 'synonym,'
identify synonyms and
use a conventional or online thesaurus.
Included in this pack are a selection of supporting worksheets that can be adapted to suit the age range of the pupils being taught.
This PowerPoint relates to the Plasma Membranes section of the BY1 specification. Students learn about the: (a) Principal components of the plasma membrane and the fluid mosaic model. Factors affecting permeability of the membrane. (b) Transport mechanisms: diffusion and factors affecting the rate of diffusion, osmosis and water potential, pinocytosis, facilitated diffusion, phagocytosis, secretion (exocytosis), active transport and influence of cyanide.
This pack was developed by Non ap Emlyn and contains writing frames and models for different forms of writing including, letters, diaries, post cards etc The frames and models have been developed at two levels. The lower level activities are suitable for those pupils who are main stream learners at Key Stage 2 whilst the upper level is suitable for those who are working above the norm at this Key Stage. The work is also suitable in some instances for those studying at KS 3 and 4.
Objectives:
That the Right Realism developed out of a failure of sociology to explain and solve the problem of crime.

In this unit you will find out about the stages involved in business start up, including the different types of ownership, legal implications, business objectives and stakeholders. You will develop basic knowledge of marketing, human resources; physical resources and costing a business start up. You will also learn about the importance of monitoring the quality of goods and services. You will also gain skills on financial planning, including start up costs, running costs, cash flow forecasting, break-even, profit and loss, balance sheets, budgeting and variance analysis.
This is designed as an introduction to Food Chains for younger KS2 pupils.
Pupils are introduced to the terms 'Producer' and &'Consumer&';. Using 'Food For&' arrows, pupils work interactively through a series of food chains, identifying the correct order. Ecosystems covered are British countryside, tropical rainforest, lake/river and seashore
This unit is made up of a number of mini activities. After finding the 12 pentominoes pupils use the shapes in the following activities: Find the symmetry and rotational symmetry of the shapes Investigate which pentominoes will tessellate without being rotated, then which will tessellate when rotated Fit the shapes into varying sizes of rectangles The unit contains pentomino shapes to download and print out.
This resource consists of a series of worksheets and PowerPoint quiz activities with a variety of levels of challenge that can be downloaded or used on screen to test knowledge and understanding of the WJEC specification on Psychological Approaches. Answers are provided for most activities.
All of the approaches specified are covered and there are some overview activities as well.
This transition project allows pupils to handle data in a real life context. The work is split over four year groups from Years 5 to 8, with opportunity for groups to revisit the previous year’s results. Year 5 collects discrete data, finds the mode and range and displays the results on an interactive bar graph. Year 6 collects discrete data, finds the mode, median, mean and range and displays their results on an interactive pictogram. Year 7 collects discrete data and displays their data on an interactive scatter diagram.
The food-based resource looks at shops and shopping, ordering food and quantities.
The three sections contain a mix of powerpoint presentations, ACTIVStudio flipcharts and Word documents making up worksheets, activities and vocab sheets.
