About
Performing International Plays (PIP) is an open-access website of learning resources for secondary school Drama and MFL teachers offering support to engage students with contemporary international plays. On the PIP website, you can explore 20 plays we selected for KS3–KS5, which were written in 16 languages by a diverse group of exceptional living writers working in 6 continents. All plays are published in English or English translation and are widely available as scripts. Alongside our free resources, PIP also offers in-person workshops for schools in partnership with Foreign Affairs theatre company. Our workshops focus on discovering the global stories that young people from migrant or Global Majority background so badly crave to feel represented in the Drama and MFL curriculum.
PIP launched in 2021 was nominated Outstanding Drama Resource at the Music and Drama Education Awards 2022. PIP emerged from the research of Dr Margherita Laera at the University of Kent.
