I have a wealth of resources that are aimed primarily at KS4 and KS5; however, there are some useful KS3 tasks that have been uploaded this year. Topics at KS5 include: Russia and its Rulers, 1855-1941; Later Tudors, 1547-1603; Popular Culture and the Witchcraze of the 16th and 17th Centuries; Italian Unification, 1830-1870; and Germany, 1890-1990. As well as History, I also have a few resources relating to Geography and ICT that some users may find helpful.

Germany, 1871-1990: Teacher notes

(0)
A 60+ page booklet with detailed teacher notes relating to the Edexcel A Level unit: Germany, 1871-1990. Please note that (as many schools will be doing), the first Depth topic (Germany 1871-1914) will be covered by another teacher for coursework, therefore this resource only covers the period from c.1914-1990. These notes have been taken from a variety of textbooks and history books; they are the perfect aid for teaching this unit or could be used to supplement existing knowledge. The knowledge and content here can be easily adapted to suit other exam boards.

Also included are a couple of blank revision diagrams that students can use during the teaching process. These resources would be invaluable for any teacher teaching this Edexcel unit. They provide an excellent supplement to existing materials on this topic.

Various resources relating to the AS/A Level topic: Unification of Italy, c.1830-1870 from Edexcel. Included is a detailed PowerPoint that introduces the topic of nationalism and major thinkers of the period in Italy. There are also handouts that supplement this work, where students can use their course textbook to make notes/answer questions on the viewpoints of the different political/social groups in Italy. These resources would be perfect as part of a much larger unit of work on Italian unification (this section covers 1830-1847).

AQA GCSE History - Britain: Health and the People

13 Resources
A number of resources relating to the new AQA GCSE unit, Britain: Health and the People, c.1000-Present. Although these worksheets have been specifically designed for AQA, they could be adapted to suit any ‘medicine through time’ unit from another exam board. However, many of the worksheets require the blue Health and the People textbook from Hodder. Included are various worksheets, PowerPoint presentations, assessment activities and a bumper exam pack (filled with possible questions). These worksheets/activities are designed to supplement other work on medicine and public health.

The detailed version is given out to parents or to students who want to know more about each individual topic that they study; the overview is the initial booklet given to students. Included in the booklet are inspiring quotes about History, an overview of the course, space for student quotes and a table showing the % breakdown of the GCSE (assessments etc.) This booklet was used for the new AQA specification; however, it can easily be adapted to suit any combination of topics from AQA or any other exam board.

Unification of Italy, 1830-1870: Garibaldi's Expedition to Sicily

(0)
A full lesson on Garibaldi’s expedition to Sicily in 1860. The content is part of the Edexcel AS unit: Italian Unification, 1830-1870. Included is a lesson plan that details the structure of the lesson and possible questions to ask students. The starter activity involves students cutting and sticking the cards to the relevant places on the map (chronological order); they can then go back and highlight key details. Then, as the teacher goes through the PowerPoint presentation, students should be adding in further details to their sheets. Finally, a primary source has been included to relate all of this back to the AS exam. I have also included some teacher notes for further detail on some areas.

Popular Culture and the Witchcraze: Thematic Table

(0)
This resource is intended to be used alongside other resources relating to the OCR A Level topic: Popular Culture and the Witchcraze. This revision table should be used at the very end of the course, or could be completed section-by-section as students work through the content. The table lists the most common themes that feature in the course down one side, with the 3 case studies (+ Europe) appearing along the top. This table will therefore help students when writing thematic questions, as they should ensure that they can draw content from a wide geographical and chronological area.

OCR A Level History: Russia, 1894-1941

(1)
A revision table to be used in preparation for Qs 1a and 2a of the A Level Russia exam. This table lists some of the key topics that students may be given in the question; they must then list the factors involved in causing this event. Included is a set of possible factors that they may put for each section, although this is by no means comprehensive. They can then use this table for question practice, by choosing two of their factors and writing an answer comparing them.

AQA GCSE History - Britain: Health and the People - Pandemics

(0)
A useful card sort and revision sheet for pandemics through time, to be used in conjunction with the 'medicine through time' style unit from any exam board (this was designed for AQA). Give students the cut out cards and ask them to put them together in groups for each pandemic (categories include: name, date, cause, treatment etc.) The content is fairly basic at this stage, as the next task is to transfer this information (in note form) on to the blank table, along with further detail from class work/textbooks. This can then be used for revision, particularly for Q3 of the AQA paper which asks students to make comparisons across the period (e.g. 'Compare the cholera epidemic with the Black Death, in what ways are they similar?)
Cuban Missile Crisis

Cuban Missile Crisis

(0)
An introductory presentation and some accompanying images/maps to be used as part of a lesson on the Cuban Missile Crisis. These worksheets/presentations can be adapted to suit a much broader lesson on the Cold War, or can be used as a stand-alone lesson. There is a useful BBC documentary that can be found on YouTube that works well once students have been introduced to the Cuban Missile Crisis. Included is a PowerPoint presentation that talks through the story, along with a map of Cuba and the areas of tension.

War on Land: D-Day

(0)
A useful lesson starter and class task on the D Day landings. Students are given a selection of images and they must first try to work out what is going on in each (all images from WikiCommons). Then, after a class discussion, they need to try to put them in the correct order. Once finished, they can try to match them up and rearrange the events on the PowerPoint presentation, before sticking/writing into their books. A map of the D Day landings has also been included, to be used alongside the questions from the PowerPoint. This is a useful introduction to D Day and can be used as a springboard for further tasks.

There are then a number of questions based on the Battle of Britain map that has been included, along with a source analysis of the War in the Air.
