This resource is an addition to my previous pack on telling the time. There is a PowerPoint Presentation - each slide is referred to in the lesson plans. All lesson plans contain starter activities and lesson objectives. This product relates to telling and writing the time using am and pm and digital clocks. Content: Lesson 1: Read quarter to times - children will see the long hand points to 9. Lesson 2: Read the time at 5 minute intervals, e.g. 8.40 pm Lesson 3: Read 24 hour analogue clock why we use am/pm Lesson 4: Read 24 hour digital clock and convert am/pm to analogue times Lesson 5: Time problem questions - Slides on how to approach them. This maths resource relates to place value: tens and ones. Please note it is a hands on resource and the lesson plan should be used in conjunction with the presentations as there is a lesson starter presentation. It can be used for reviewing tens and ones or teaching it from scratch, so the detailed lesson plan is flexible. Some preparation is needed to carry out the activities such as collection of different coloured straws, elastic bands, suggested materials such as counters, unifix cubes; cut out the 1 digit number tiles for the worksheet or you can get children to select two numbers from a pile, write it down and then describe the place value - see 5. in the list below. This product contains: Lesson Starter PowerPoint Presentation - Counting in tens from 0 to 100 and back. Also included is the Hundred Square if you need to demonstrate counting in steps or groups of 10. Main Lesson PowerPoint Presentation (50 Slides) together with lesson plan Detailed Lesson Plan (Presentation slides are referred to)- Includes whole class and independent activities. Place Value Grids - tens/ones and tens/units - for practical activities Blank Place Value Grid Worksheet and Cut/paste activity sheets for making 2-digit numbers. Children choose a 1 -digit number from container 1 and another 1-digit number from container 2 to make a 2-digit number which they stick onto their worksheet and describe the number, e.g. 35 = 3 tens 5 ones; 30 + 5. This pack relates to euros and euro cents currency. Updated 17 May 2022 to include two versions of the original Presentation and worksheets showing the different ways euros/cents are written. Aimed at KS1/Kindergarten/Grade 1 and ESL/EFL students. The presentation can be used as follow-up to the first pack and builds upon the skills students have learnt previously. It still uses a step-by-step approach to teaching money but using higher value coins. This pack contains: <strong>A comprehensive PowerPoint Presentation (53 Slides) - divided into convenient sections. </strong> 1.Reviewing coins and their values, money exchange and using the 50c, €1 and €2 coins. 2. Using €1 and €2 euro coins. Using combination of coins to equal the value of the one euro and two euro coins. 3. Using euros and cents together - this is explained in the presentation with various whole class activities 4. Giving change from €1 and € 2 euro coins. The Presentation also includes whole class activities and different strategies students can use to work out money problems. Students also learn to change, e.g. 125 cents to €1.25/1,25€. **4 Flexible Lesson Plans - contains objectives, plenaries and main lesson. PowerPoint Slides are referred to in the lesson plans. ** Some preparation is required: Laminate the coin sheets, coin cards and price tags for practical tasks at tables. <strong>Worksheets</strong> <strong>Lesson 1</strong> - Adding up combinations of euro coins (2 worksheets). At the Mall (2 worksheets) - adding two items. Extension adding three items. <strong>Lesson 2</strong> - You will need the coin sheets or you can use plastic euro money. This product is a set of 70 task cards up to the value of €5.00 or 5 €. Each card shows a combination of coins up to a particular value which pupils add up and write the total in the space provided. Content • 70 Task cards • Answer Keys • Recording Task Card Sheet • Blank task cards • All eight coins • Flags Write and erase You can print, laminate and cut out the cards for pupils to practise adding up coin values. Ideal for early finishers and for those pupils who need more practice in adding up coins. Print off, cut out and glue into workbooks You may wish to record pupils’ work and so this resource is great for cutting out and sticking into workbooks or onto plain paper. Pupils do not have to work through the task cards in number order. Whatever ability the pupil is at, you can choose the appropriate task card. There is a Recording Sheet with space for the pupil’s name and date for when each activity card was completed. Alternative uses I have included blank card and coins which you can prepare to suit the needs of your pupils. E.g. Write the amount of money on the right-hand side of the card and then pupils cut out the coins to match the amount of money you have written down. Pupils can cut out the little flags and stick on the blank task cards. For small group or one-to-one activity Lay out cards that have the same value but different combinations of coins. Ask pupils to match the cards that add up the same amount and elicit what coins were used on each card. E.g. This resource relates to UK money - giving change. There are 50 task cards/activities. Content: 50 numbered Task cards Answer Key Recording Sheet Money Reference Sheet There are two task cards to a page. The task is in two parts: • First students add up the coins/money in the first column and write the price of the item. • The middle column shows the money used to pay for the item. • Students work out the change using whichever method they are comfortable with and then write the change given in the last column. The recording sheet can be used to write the date each card was completed. Great for early finishers and/or you want to review money with your students. **This resource relates to repeated addition and arrays to visualize multiplication. ** Aimed at: Year 1/2 and Lower Keystage 2, and SEND. PowerPoint Presentation (24 Slides) contains: Illustration and explanation of arrays (rows and columns) How we read the arrays What is repeated addition and how it is written (2 + 2 + 2 = 3 lots of 2 = 2 x 3), i.e 2 repeated 3 times. Whole class activity on describing an array on their whiteboards There are 3 worksheets:- Activity 1 (2 pages) - Children write repeated additions for the arrays shown. Children that require support with the activities can write one repeated addition e.g. 2 + 2 + 2 whereas a more able child will be able to write two addition models: 2 + 2 + 2 and 3 + 3. Activity 2 (2 pages) - (Extension) Same as above but the arrays are larger. There is a small section on the worksheets where it asks children to show 3 lots of 4 and then circle the groups. Activity 3 (8 pages)- Cut and Paste activity - The activity involves children cutting out buttons and arranging them in an array according to what is asked in the boxes: e.g. 5 x 2, so the student cuts out 2 lots of 5 buttons (10) and form them in an array, e.g. 5 buttons in a row and 2 columns. Extension for more able: On Activity Sheets 1 and 2 - The children can write the multiplication number sentence inside the box below their repeated additions- 2 + 2 + 2 2 X 3 = 6 3 + 3 3 X 2 = 6 Learning Objectives: To know that multiplication is related to repeated addition To learn that arrays arranged in rows and columns helps us to work out a multiplication sums.
