This resource relates to writing beginning/initial uppercase and lowercase letters to incomplete words which illustrate pictures beginning with that letter. There are also multiple choice worksheets Aa to Mm and Nn to Zz which require students to circle one picture out of a field of three that corresponds to the initial letter. The extra hands-on activity involves cutting and sticking pictures below the correct letters. You can incorporate these worksheets as part of your main lesson and/or use as assessment. These are St Patrick’s Day phonics worksheets relating to beginning consonant blends. These worksheets are ideal for reviewing work on blends and for writing simple sentences using beginning blends. Content: Consonant blend worksheets Writing simple sentences Fun colour by Code Activity – great for early finishers Consonant blends worksheets: There are 7 consonant blends worksheets containing 9 blends pictures on each sheet with incomplete words. Students select the correct missing blends from the grid using the picture clues. The blends are: bl-, br-, cl-, cr-, dr-, fl-, fr-, gl-, gr-, pl-, pr-, sc-, sk-, sl-, sm-, sn-, sp-, st-, sw-, tr-, and tw-. Writing activity: Worksheets 1 to 3 Students write simple sentences using each of the beginning blends shown in the grid with pictures. They should check their work making sure they start their sentence with a capital/uppercase letter and finish with a full stop. Colour by Code - Beginning blend words and pictures with Solution: The blends in this activity are colour-coded. The consonant blends are: fl, gl, cr, dr, st and tw. There are two versions of this activity. One image displays words and pictures, and the second image displays only words beginning with the consonant blends. Students should read what colour to colour in the blend on each section of the picture. Once completed, they should see a shamrock in the centre. This product relates to Autumn/Fall squirrel-themed emotions/feelings. There are a variety of worksheets for identifying and matching emotions, naming emotions, visual activities where students identify the emotion each squirrel is displaying and then find and count the same emotion. In addition, students can draw their own emotions, read, trace and write emotions the squirrels are displaying. You can use this time-saving product as an extension or extra activities resource or as part of your main lesson on feelings and emotions with an autumn theme. Match the same pictures worksheets: Students draw lines to match squirrels showing the same emotion – Picture to picture match. Match the same pictures worksheets: Students draw lines to match the emotion each squirrel is showing to the correct word – Picture to word match. Find and Count: Students identify the squirrel they should find and then count the pictures that are the same and write the number in the boxes provided. Drawing different emotions/feelings: Students read the word below each squirrel and then draw the emotion. I have included an example worksheet on this activity. Is a student able to draw the correct emotion for the word? How do you feel today? In this writing/drawing features activity, students write how they are feeling and then write the word, or for more able students a sentence and why they are feeling that way. Trace and Draw: Students trace over the repetitive sentences with different emotions and then draw in the correct facial expressions. Read and Write Missing Emotions: There is a word box and sentences with missing emotions. At the end of each sentence is a squirrel. Students read the sentences and fill in the gaps.
