Progress monitoring booklets for Further Additional Science - Biology B3
A list of the various objectives for each of the topics in the B3 Further Additional Science Unit.
Students can show progress against what they know about a topic at the start and then at the end of a unit. This can then be used to produce a personalised revision programme for the student.
Alternative way of being used, is to print on stickers and use in books.
The idea works that students should know the core building blocks around the edge of the page. The task therefore is to summarise these key points in the middle, only focusing on the things they have forgotten:
The final task is to get this all on to a postcard - their revision notes to take away! This makes it all manageable for the student.
Topics covered:
Cells, enzymes, specialised cell, digestion, genes, mitosis, meiosis, chromosomes, bile, pancreas, villi,
Revision loop card activity for Additional Biology. Students need to cut out the cards and then sequence them so that the question on one card matches the answer on the next one. If the student get them correct, it will form a loop.
The answer sheet is also provided so that you can quickly check response and identify any mistakes made by the student(s).
A great activity to challenge students - who is quickest; to assess students and highlight misconceptions.
Loop cards include questions about:
digestion, digestive system, enzymes, denature, pH, lipase, bile,

The task therefore is to work inwards and begin to summarise these key points in the middle, only focusing on the things they have forgotten.

This is one topic only and the full unit can be downloaded as a complete file.
This booklet supports a series of lesson and is designed for Entry Level/SEND students to allow them to access the key elements of science. If used in a mixed ability class, these booklets allow students to keep pace with the rest of the class whilst personalising the challenge and support they require.
The booklet is part of a series of booklets with a variety of tasks including matching keywords and definition, scaffolding, extended answers, research and a lot of practical work with matching results tables/graphs.
Some of the diagrams have had to be removed for copyright.

3 questions per card, with answers. These can be used for a quiz for the whole class or several sets printed for students in small groups.
Topics include: limestone, atoms, periodic table, alkanes, alkenes, cracking, auxins, hormones, nerves, reflex, energy, energy resources, waves and much more.
Bread and butter task sheets.
Each lessons students answer the questions as a starter or plenary to ensure that they continue to remind themselves about the core elements of each of the core units.
Topics include: limestone, atoms, periodic table, alkanes, alkenes, cracking, auxins, hormones, nerves, reflex, energy, energy resources, waves and much more.
A very easy to use multiple choice quiz where students can show their answers on whiteboards, by holding up pre-made cards with A-D on them or write answers in their books.
This covers the C1 AQA Science-A unit. Other quizzes for the other topics are available on the TES too.
A set of multiple choice questions that can be sued to assess students either as a starter, plenary or revision task.
Works best with voting kits, pre-made flash cards or whiteboards. Also students can record answers in back of books.
Covers: hormones, neurones, motor, sensory, CNS, menstrual cycle
Additional Biology AQA - Keyword and definition bingo.
This contains a set of questions and a pack of pre-made cards. This can be used as a starter, plenary or revision activity.
This covers all of the key concepts in the unit. Other bingo games are available for the other units too.
