There is a template for letter writing using the idea of a 'Freak Show' coming to the local area and they must write persuasively. A full lesson PowerPoint and accompanying worksheet. The lesson begins with images of monsters slowly revealed so they can guess them. The lesson asks pupils to imagine a monster and draw it. They then use their words, including adjectives and similes, to describe the monster. Their peer then listens to the description and tries to draw the image. They then compare pictures to see how accurate their written description was. This was originally designed to use with a Year 6 English transition lesson.
