The pdf file allows students to independently learn and practise the AQA A level Physics Engineering Moments of Inertia topic. Either in the classroom or at home this is a great lesson. Students use this pdf file on iPads/ tablets/ laptops. The emphasis is on student independence. There are several routes through the lesson - offering lots of differentiation. The file contains 89 hyperlinked slides with regular questions to test their understanding as they go along. Think of it as a very interactive textbook, or a bit like Ceefax or Teletext from the olden days.
Performance will vary through different apps and platforms. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is optimal on “single page view”, Outlook and OneNote are inferior.
Also available as interactive eBooks;
GCSE Energy
GCSE Radioactivity
Young Modulus
Moments of Inertia
Flywheel Practical
pV graphs for Engineering
Engine Cycles and Calculations

Originally used for a fantastic remote learning lesson for AQA A level Physics Engineering Moments of Inertia topic. Using these resources students will carry out a virtual practical to measure the moment of inertia of a flywheel. No teacher input required!
The pdf file allows students to independently master the underlying equations for the flywheel practical using an interactive book. In the second section of the lesson students take measurements of a flywheel from a YouTube clip to use with the equations.
A great lesson, very strongly recommended. After completion, students will be able to conduct the same practical independent of the teacher. A justified boast for a thorough and engaging lesson.

An exemplar FREE Four in a Row game on Radioactivity is available to try before you buy.
Four in a Row games on six other physics topics are available individually from my shop or as a bundle at a greatly reduced price.
Four in a Row is a game for your whiteboard. Nothing needs to be printed or prepared to play this game. The game-play is somewhere between noughts and crosses and blockbusters. Two teams alternate, competing to correctly answer questions on the grid. The board is interactive - clicking tiles changes the colours and also reveals answers.
X-Rays in Medicine Four in a Row is designed primarily for the AQA GCSE Physics/ Combined Science course but may be useful elsewhere.
18 Transformers multiple choice questions for Physics A-level with student-friendly solutions.
Questions from the circular motion topic are available as a free sample
Also available 220 multiple choice question bundle for A-level physics second year topics
Newton’s laws are presented using fun and memorable animated images including Wile-e-Coyote and Super Mario. Included here are notes, a multiple choice quiz, a worksheet to use with the pHet interactive and two other illustrative worksheets.
A fun competitive interactive whiteboard game in which two teams take it in turns to match pictures triangles to equations describing them. Requires students to be able to label sides and apply SOHCAHTOA. Suitable for GCSE and A-level. The game automatically scores and has a built in timer in the event of a draw. Students really enjoy the competitiveness, strongly recommended. This game won a Microsoft innovation award.
A version containing an editor and picture pairs is now available to buy on TES resources. Visit my shop; www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/bennyjohn5.

PowerPoint animations describing three exciting experiments for an assembly.
i) A no-handed mug catch
ii) Non-popping balloon immune to candles
iii) Floating teabags.
I got students to perform the experiments. A script is included in the footnotes. The teabags work better launched from a paper surface - they seem to get stuck with heat-proof mats.

Use these questions with your brightest and best year 12 students to occupy and stretch them from the very beginning of the A level physics course.
The year 12 A level Physics Olympiad exams are in January and March every year. It’s tricky to start training students on challenging questions at the start of their A level studies as they haven’t covered much relevant content. The questions reproduced in this resource are suitable for the start of the A level physics course - the problem solving is tricky but builds on existing GCSE knowledge. Solutions are provided.
This lesson is used to introduce simple harmonic motion. A prior knowledge of circular motion or waves is not needed.
