Worksheet looking at waves travelling through different media.\n\nStarter used a bell jar.\n\nThis is a practical based lesson with three different activities
Independent learning lesson where the students choose the level of worksheet to understand the LO's for the lesson. Learning assessed by quiz at the end of the lesson.
This is my first draft of a takeaway homework template, taken from @TeacherToolkit on twitter.\n\nIt was designed for Science, but is easily adaptable.
Practical activity.\n\nIn pairs students pick a type of ear to make. They then stand near the sound source that is included and walk backward until they can no longer hear the sound. The sound needs to be very low, along with the class being quiet.\n\nTwo elephant ears should be the best.
Practical based on the popular Twilight film where the students plan a practical looking at whether garlic can act as an antibacterial.\nTwo lessons included\nThe first is them planning and carrying out the practical.\nThe second is them collecting the results and starting the writeup of the practical
Students use the textbooks/internet to answer the questions on the worksheet. They have to answer a specified amount to be "safe" for the lesson and then there are rewards for achieving more points. Very easily a whole lesson of students working on tasks that are self differentiated.
