Topic: English Legal Systems (exc. statutory interpretation) Unit: Unit 1: English Legal Systems Exam Board: Eduqas Paper: Paper 1: English Legal Systems This is a fun revision lesson/homework to be given to students who have finished their first term of A-Level Law. It covers all English Legal Systems topics apart from statutory interpretation (this could easily be added in). It has 24 tasks to complete. Most of these are longer tasks and have been designed as revision homework. The idea is that you tell students a number of tasks they have to complete and they can click on the windows on the advent calendar to view tasks. How it Works Open the PowerPoint presentation and click ‘From Beginning’ to view the slide show Click on the window you want to open (e.g. 2) A pop-up will appear with a task Students can then complete the task Click on the same window again to close the task Some tasks require repetition over several days or access to technology Amending the Tasks You can easily amend the tasks yourself. There are text boxes on slide 1 that are piled on top of each other. Simply amend the text in each box to change the task. There is also a task list on slide 3 in case students cannot get the presentation to work - don’t forget to amend this as well! Do not alter the animations or the click and reveal on advent windows won’t work! This is designed for the A-Level Law English Legal Systems Unit for the Eduqas exam board but the presentation is fully and easily editable so can be adapted to suit other subjects/units/topics/levels

I run this quiz every year with my year 12 students and they absolutely love it. There are six rounds and it takes about an hour to complete. Extra rounds can easily be added or removed depending on the length of the lesson you have to fit it into. Exam Board: Eduqas Students will need knowledge of all English Legal Systems topics (except Statutory Interpretation). This should make it suitable for year 12 just before Christmas but it would also suit year 13. Please check the answers for round 6 before running as it requires up to date knowledge of the Lord Chancellor & Head of Supreme Court and some answers may need changing The quiz was up to date as of 18/12/24! Rounds: Juries Christmas in the Courts The Justice System Precedent Picture Round General Legal Knowledge
